Dealer got me to agree to a price and terms Via text

Recommended Posts

Hi There everyone

I would be very much obliged if someone can help me,

I was intending to buy a car tomorrow,

the agreement reached in writing via text and which I was happy to do, the dealer is saying now that he would require, a 3K deposit,

I expressly told him that there was no deposit and he was happy with that saying that

" if he could get the figures to my required budget based on no deposit would I go ahead and do the deal?"

I was more than happy to do that.

However the dealer is saying he now wants 3K deposit

My question is that

its now in writing that he is going to sell the car to me without a deposit,

is he obliged to sell that car at that price to me?

Kind Regards

Nick

Did you make this contract at the car showroom or have you done it remotely simply by text in relation to an advertisement?

the proposal has been put forward by the dealer to the finance company,

from the outset I stated in the text that there was no deposit....

..and that was agreed by text......

no HP contract has been signed just a proposal put forward

he is not obliged to sell and you are not obliged to buy.

As you wish to buy on finance it could still all go wrong if the finance co say no regardless of what you agree with the dealer and it will be no-ones fault
