Public Sector workers get paid no matter what.  It's easy to call for restrictions that only affect others.

The problem is that the level of compliance is nowhere near what it was at the start.  Creating more rules doesn't solve anything if people don't follow them.  Enforcing the ones we already have wouldn't hurt.

my O/H daughter in law and now daughter (recent change of job) all work in the 'public sector', all work in close contact with kids/patients/immune compromised and have had no furlough even when they had limited PPE.

Some GP's (who the Tories have said they will reward) haven't actually been seen around here since spring.

My O/H and DIL - BOTH front line patient facing who continue to meet patients on a daily basis - sometimes dozens a day - are expecting the same ongoing fall in real time wages they have experienced for years.

Its quite clear that kids do get infected, and are both carriers and infecter's when they have it, yet teachers have had full size 30 kid classes to deal with.

The virus is defined as liking enclosed spaces with lots of people - kids are the very definition, and teenagers the epitome of a perfect storm even if fewer of them have TO DATE been obviously negatively impacted health wise.

Lets always keep in mind who is actually failing us

The politicians - who excuse their mates anything and wander around their multiple 'homes' at will

Who knows?  Supermarket deliveries, Royal Mail, prescription delivery services, local businesses which have brought in delivery options.  Really smart move to push everyone back to going out to mix instead of getting stuff delivered.

and regarding delivery drivers,

they like shop assistants, are FAR more essential front line workers than any of those 'absent' apart from maybe a brief telephone conversation if you are lucky GP's.

Yet neither delivery drivers or shop assistants seem to be anywhere significant if at all in the 'vaccine' queue or anything else.

As far as i can see, the real 'efficacy of the Oxford/AstraZenica vaccine is 60-65%

By far the weakest effect, but so far the easiest (by far) to store and distribute

Oh how much do I agree with this.  For those of us who have not had the virus or needed medical help over the last nine months they are the people who kept us all going.  Remember back at the start when retail staff had absolutely no protection but were there all day every day stocking those shelves.  If you didn't go out to shop your only human interaction was a wave from a delivery driver as they stepped back from leaving a package on the doorstep and trust me - it made a difference.

Yes you have all nailed it,  PS workers shouting loudest are ones either  working from home or whatever, one suggestion was ration packs like Foodbank style parcel;s picked to what a dietician regarded as appropriate ,  delivered by the Army. some people become obsessed and then go all silly on SM Issue with that is some people have special dietary needs, and that approach is detrimental to their health. Would be interesting toi see the stats on infection and illness among Essential Workers, of Non medical occupations like the retail and distribution sector worker's, compared to Teachers.

lets not forget that the new stain(s) of Covid seem to

* Affect children more

* Be much more transmissible

- 30 Kid classrooms + teachers and assistants in constant extended contact in an enclosed environment (classrooms)? (far smaller areas than a supermarket)

- then returning to enclosed homes + families all of whom likely to have other school/work/shopping interactions ..

Who the heck could think that is in any way sensible?

- especially with the claims of vaccine done in a few months (yeh right)

Presumably this is only for 'other people', not those suggesting it.  They would continue to have choice.  It starts to get a bit Animal Farm doesn't it.

Could be bots could be loopies, that's the problems on SM, but what they are suggesting us obviously designed to garner responses, most were in agreement,so some will debate it and demand hancock does something similar.

I see Handcocks back to blaming the public, not the Governments in out in out spread it all about policies

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/coronavirus-schools-matt-hancock-lockdown-b1781868.html

eg Keeping London in tier 2 for months while they knew a new more infectious strain was spreading simply couldn't be Johnson and Handcocks fault ... Now could it?

October they were first aware of it in London and Kent and monitored its spread through November and half way through December before doing owt.

and some folk whinge about China ...

- If that were Liverpool or Manchester where a new more infectious strain were discovered there would have been police/Army patrolling the borders of their level 10 total lockdown
