Everyone remember that schools were supposed to re-open with smaller 'class sizes etc to protect the kids .. according to Johnson 'The Liar' and crew?

... With no-one understanding how that could be implemented in state schools/academies, although elite schools already had smaller class sizes anyway ..

Well, dunno about your young ones, but our families kids are all back in normal class sizes of around 30ish, with little changed apart from some extra hand cleaning and some 'limits on outside playground interaction

Apparently Eton has sent infected pupils home rather than quarantine in situ.  Overseas pupils are being farmed out to UK families.  Does that mean that whole household has to quarantine or only those who develop symptoms?  Do the details hit any database if the initial infection is recorded at one location and then the infected individual moves to another?  Are other individuals allowed to do this once they've tested +ve?

Eton parents accuse school of 'spreading virus round country' as pupils sent home to isolate

Whole of Lower Sixth, and some pupils in other year groups, told to leave boarding school following number of positive tests

I particularly like this bit

"Given the numbers involved, medical advice was clear that these pupils could not safely isolate at the school."

Meanwhile hundreds of students at a time are being locked into halls of residence with police and 'security' guarding them to ensure they don't return home.

So which is it then?  Is it safe for large numbers to isolate together or not?

I've looked it up.

It would seem its up to 'whoever' so locking in the non-elite students rather than sending them home would possibly seem to arguably be illegal detention despite lockdown 'rules'. Dunno if 'child also relates to 'students' or what.

"If a child in a boarding school shows symptoms, they should initially self-isolate in their residential setting household. Most children will benefit from self-isolating in their boarding house so that their usual support can continue. Others will benefit more from self-isolating in their family home. For more information on how to care for a symptomatic child while protecting the welfare of other pupils and staff, read the guidance on isolation for residential educational settings."

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/actions-for-schools-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak/guidance-for-full-opening-schools

Not that the rules should be that hard to find and decipher anyway, or implemented so differently.

What I want to know, is how many people have been admitted to hospitals in the last 7 days needing help with Covid-19 ? How does this compare with previous weeks?

Virus numbers are high due to increased testing and number of deaths increasing, but I have heard that covid-19 was probably not primary cause of death in many cases. Is this true ?

The Track & Trace is seriously borked still Dido and Serco getting stick, Dr North is non too pleased at it being treated as a national single outbreak when its localised to areas with its own characteristics in each. Maybe CJ  & TJ would like to debate it and the science they are using to back their lock it down and  hope plan with him and others on Turbulent Times.  He has had a pop at the hand washing mantra as being more a flu prevention than SARS

Perhaps UB or others  can confirmr they really were using a 32 bit spreadsheet, the IT professionals on o Social Media reckon Excel '97 which has known calculation bugs that crop up depending on the way formulas are entered and replicated across a worksheet, that can give variances of >100K plus being 32 bit ran out of rows to enter new data.

so how many people who tried - couldn't get a test - so aren't included

- to get the figures as low as they are despite lockdowns and plans to lockdown harder across the UK?

... Let alone that as many as 80% of infected and infectious people apparently do not show symptoms - so would largely be denied a test even if they thought they needed one?

and with not even temperature checks to catch and add to the information available - not that the figures would be released unless it made Johnson and Handcock look 'good'.

No wonder johnson has put little effort into actually (rather than allegedly) increasing teh UK's actual test capacity to something like a level that isn't a national disgrace to a rich developed country (or any country)

... while filling their mates pockets with taxpayer money like banana republic dictators

"In recent weeks, COVID-19 positivity rates have been higher among people who have travelled abroad, although increases are seen in both those who have and have not travelled."

... perhaps thanks to Johnson snr and the few abusers like him jumping from country to country to avoid restrictions to get a haircut or an eyetest in shopping centres abroad ..

- then wandering around UK shops without masks on the day they return

... rather than people who have simply gone abroad on a holiday with their family then gone home ?

Higher than what - higher than before or significantly higher than in people who haven't travelled abroad?  Put together with the accompanying phrase that increased rates are also seen in people who have and haven't been abroad it makes the whole statement utterly meaningless.  I could just as easily say recent rates are higher in people with blue eyes but they're also higher in people with brown eyes.

all areas seeing growth of infections (NE and NW worst at moment) with hospitalisations higher than May

- seemed surprised

- Perhaps they should realise that its generally colder and damper,  later and sooner as well as throughout the year - the further North you go.

More primary NHS staff to be able to be tested (great) but without REAL extra capacity - that does mean less tests for everyone else (groan)

oh

and nightingale hospitals put on 'higher alert' despite shortages of staff issues

... wonder how much the private sector will make from that?

Yes

Even though there seemed to be a lot more reality than usual in the England briefing, poor as it was

- perhaps that was that it wasn't being given by Johnson and Handcock

half of entire local infants school closed after positive covid cases

These children have now returned into family homes and lockdown.

Johnson and Handcock along with Jenrick, dunnycan and the other *//..',' .,/'; aren't fit to be considered human, let alone British.

I wouldn't trust them to wipe my toilet.

Wonder where johnson snr is today doing whatever he likes and spreading whatever across the world and country?

Probably at some 'hunt gathering

Hardly surprising.  If Eton is finding high rates of infection when testing 100% of symptom free pupils (repeatedly I believe) then why should we suppose other schools are any different?  From what I've seen in the media most, or at least many, infected students are symptom free.  I'm honestly confused as to why testing is targeted at those who show outward signs of the disease
