Can imagine it can't you

junior aide after being alerted by senior civil servant:

Minister, We've been offered 50 million Coronavirus testing kits.

Minister:

How does that fit in with our herd immunity policy which requires people to become infected?

Junior aide:

OK if you say so. .Well how about this offer of 25,000 ventilators for when our plan works or even if it doesn't?

Minister:

Why are you still here breathing on me.

The Tory Legacy

Record high Taxes, Immigration, Excrement in waterways, energy company/crony profits

Record low: living standards and investment

Crumbling Hospitals, Schools, council services, businesses and roads

If only the Govt had thrown a protective ring around care homes with the same gusto they do around their crooked MPs

“This is specifically not allowed. Mr. Mansour used to be a Cabinet Minister in Egypt, he has given the Tories a huge amount of money, and immediately gets a knighthood.

That seems straightforwardly corrupt.  Shouldn’t they both be in jail?”

Nature is coming back. I had the window open last night, I can normally tell the time by the distant roar of traffic on the A4 and planes coming into Heathrow. I woke up, thinking it was 2am, because it was dead silent out there.  Looked at my watch, it was nearly 6 am ! Not a car, not a plane, just silence. On a Tuesday, the busiest morning of the week normally.

We could do with some help from you.

Very weird indeed. I'm an aviation geek, so I'm always plane spotting using flight radar 24. Planes are coming straight in at Heathrow at all times now. The are not even in a holding pattern at peak times.  That's the first time since, probably forever.

We could do with some help from you.

I know nurses and staff in hospitals who were right up to last friday face to face with patients since the outbreak with no face masks, few gloves and not even hand sanitiser which had run out or been stolen.

In non-covid wards masks aren't even a requirement and I seriously doubt that any NHS hospital has run out of gloves and sanitiser.

I spent most of the last week in the non-covid respiratory wards of both Harefield and Stoke Mandeville hospitals and both had massive stocks of all PPE (I asked), and it's not as if they don't use it. I was genuinely astonished at how much PPE they got through as nursing staff would put on fresh PPE like aprons and gloves between each and every patient interaction, meaning hundreds of items per nurse per day.

I'm not so sure

We were in fracture clinic at our local hospital recently and they were complaining about being out of small gloves, one of the nurses tried to use a sanitiser bottle to find it was empty and was told by another nurse there was none left to fill it up...

Apparently so Richard North has a pop at the Toby Young let the elderly die to save the economy paradigm today, using Johnson as an example, he postulates that the responses were correct in some ways for flu, but Covid-19 is a SARS, not a flu so needs different handling  http://www.eureferendum.com/blogview.aspx?blogno=87569#disqus_thread

  • Haha 3

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Well I can confirm that those desperately needed supplies are reaching the hospitals although far more is needed - especially testing and more testing and even more testing everywhere.

Worrying news that animals have been confirmed can catch it although why there was any real doubt given the origins of the disease I have no idea.

Thoughts on masks is changing - with the Americans apparently gazzumping bought stocks ordered by other countries.

The thing with masks and gloves is the same as hand washing - nothing short of hazmats will do - but every little helps.

Whilst I appreciate the post office is working incredibly hard.. I hope they manage to get those masks to where they need to go and fast !.

My Postman's wife, who is a District Nurse has been confirmed as having Covid 19, so sadly as he now has to be isolated.. there is going to be one less postman to help deliver these.
