Cheque out of the blue (Blackhorse)

Recommended Posts

Sent off a SAR on 03 Oct to black horse and so far nothing! they have until about Mon 14 Nov so that's Monday coming.

Are they normally this slow? taking it all the way to the wire!

If there is no word Monday what is the next step?

Unfortunatly although I did send it recorded I have lost the receipt so cant prove if they got it or not.

I sent it to:

Customer complaints

St William House

Tresillian Terrace

Cardif

CF10 5BH

They have 40 calendar days to comply and any company associated with the LTSB group will take time and more than likely you will end up taking this further either by way of a non compliance claim through the courts or to the Information Commissioner.

Did you send the request by a tracked post and do you have proof that it was delivered.. you can check on the RM website.

If you enclosed a postal order for the fee then you can telephone 01246 542091 (direct line) to check if and when it was cashed. If it has, then ask the Post office to send you a letter confirming this. If you do need to take the matter further then that will be good evidence :)

Got my letter and cheque returned to me saying they cannot find any account for me.

They suggest I send them details of other addresses I have lived at!

I put all my previous addresses on the letter so I think they are purposly avoiding sending a SAR.

I took out finance through a motorbike shop in 2001 and the loan ran for 3 or 4 years.

I have had a SAR off them before too back just before the bank charges test case stuff was going through the courts.

Hmm, Blackhorse are part of the LTSB group.. it is likely they have destroyed any information that is older than 6 years. Do you have no paperwork at all with an account number.. perhaps a statement or letter ?

Did you keep any information from the other SAR.. you might find something in that?

Pretty sure I got rid of it all when I moved house and it doesnt show up on my credit check.

Might have something in the loft but I doubt it.

I just received a cheque from Blackhorse completely out of the blue. I wrote to them many years ago and the just told me they had no record of my account. It was a finance loan and I wasn't sure if I took ppi or not.

Anyone else had this?

I will send them an SAR to find out what it is about and if any calculation has been carried out correctly.

Send them another SAR now. clearly they have some information about you and it will be interesting to see if they deny it  again.
