Silentnight replacing but I’ve got to pay delivery?

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

a long story cut short - Silentnight agreed to replace a mattress that had developed several lumps and dips in it. However, I still have had to pay delivery costs of £50. They wanted to charge me £30 to take the mattress away but I baulked at that.

my question is, being as the mattress is faulty, should I have to pay the delivery cost of a new one?

they are making good a situation that is of their doing so they cant charge you to deliver somehting they are obliged to replace under law. Tell them that you are more than happy to take them to court over this relatively small matter as you know that you are right and will win as afulty goods are returned at their expense when delivery was part of the origianl sale agreement.

If you collected the original mattress then this advice wont apply because it will have been a deal under those terms , not as a distance sale.

I would be raising this on their twitter or facebook account and see hiow soon they contact you to "clarify"
