Statuary Demand as a further means of executing a CCJ ?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I chased an invoice through the courts for non payment from a limited company which resulted in default judgement but despite that and enforcement efforts the business in question has still failed to make payment.

As a result I am not looking at issuing a stat demand but just wondering does this have to be sent to the court or simply served on the debtor?

Many Thanks

I do apologise for not been up on where exactly in a forum something goes but thought self employment section would be a good starting point for someone who is self employed just like all the other debt questions that are in there...

But all the questions in there are in connection to self employment issues.......self assessment/National Insurance etc etc not chasing CCJs or issuing Statuary Demands.

Anyway your in the correct forum now.

So if you wish to issue a SD the debt must be 5K or more......no court involvement...you can either hand serve it yourself or hire a process server.Dont issue one though purley as a means of simple debt collection , if you do issue one you may have to follow it through and wind up the company concerned otherwise its a pointless route when there are other methods of enforcement.
