I think it would probably be best to stay away from that branch of TKMaxx. We have plenty of threads here about their security people that you can read.
It may be that it's gone your way this time, but if you continue to shoplift it won't end well. Treat this as a learning experience, stop stealing and move on. If you have mental issues you think led you to shoplift, then you need a chat with your GP.
So today I stupidly tried to take a pair of headphones from tkmaxx, as I'm a student & tight for money. I'm not looking for sympathy & I know it doesn't excuse it, but I was caught, returned the item on the spot & was told by the ununiformed security that I would be banned from all tkmaxx stores. This has me somewhat confused, as from reading other cases I can see that there are forms that are supposed to be completed for acknowledgement of the ban etc. yet this security guard didn't even take my name. As such I want to know how they expect to enforce this ban, as I don't think that they could enforce this without distribution of my picture which I haven't given permission for. Can anyone advise on what to do??
I have done a little digging in my emails here going back to 2010. It looks like Moorcroft were the original DCA, then passed to Direct Legal Collections. I think it was then sold on again before ending up with Capquest.
I'll send them a new CCA request and see what happens. To refresh my memory, I take it they have to show me a copy of the original signed agreement or they can't chase. Is there more complexity to that - I'm guessing there is!
Aww Tidot, I see that you are in a similar stage as my husband.. Hopefully they don't apply to lift yours, but I will try to keep you updated on what happens with my husbands' case which is on Thursday. Dx and Andy posted some helpful stuff in my thread which you can use for yours if they lift yours.
Don't contact them to make a payment arrangement yet, as they may not even apply to have it lifted..
Don't touch them owe me £500 since January 2019 make excuse after excuse. Seem they always have software problems sending money out. Keep saying they will call back or email nothing been chasing it now for 6 mths the phone staff always have the same banter we will chase it up and get back to you then nothing!
