    • Yep! I always thought I got that because the account I had then was Marrisota but when the marriage issues happened and back in 2015 when I was initially trying to get this all sorted out the “debt” paperwork was all JD Williams - aren’t they the “parent” company?   I will check the dates.    so do I stop paying while I do all the paperwork?
    • Even though I’ve been paying them for this long?    I know you’re going to say something along the lines of “because they’re a bunch of muppets” but why are they doing this as if I’ve not been paying?   dx - I took the name and address out for privacy...
    • you didn't pay lidls the speculative invoice charge of £45.   the only connection to them is their head office signed their region up to have their local stores car parks managed by the scammers because they had been duped into thinking people that abuse their car parks cost the region xxx in lost shopping revenue because another shopper could have used it.   they never see any of the money these bandits gleam from people paying a speculative invoice off ever and annually get ripped off by paying the fleecers £10'000 each year to give them permission to manage their carparks. anyone that pays the money goes directly into the parking fleecers pockets.   however i understand you are new and green but part of a forum is also self help which relates to my comment about where did you ever get the idea to pay them from...certainly not here.   so lidls wont be doing and can't do anything further, they certain wont be interested in instructing their fleecers to refund you and can't and most certainly won't refund you themselves.   go do a chargeback   dx
    • OK,  I have not claimed anyone told us to pay in this forum.   As grown up adults we made this decision. I am sharing our experience in case it benefits anyone.    Our approach to this is if Lidl didn't help at the end we would take our shopping elsewhere and the so called reduced charge of £45 paid would be the end of the story, even if is unfair.    As I mentioned Lidl cust. service already emailed us to confirm that they have contacted Athena to cancel the charge, I'll first follow up with Lidl. If not resolved will resort to chargeback.
    • no one ever said PAY THEM, you never ever do that.   if you paid by debit card go get it back by a chargeback to your issuing bank.

    • I’m in desperate need of help

I bought some clothes online in may through Evans and paid through PayPal
returned them all seven days later

I waited the 14days for my refund and no refund came
I put in a dispute through PayPal but I didn’t get any emails to escalate the case - PayPal closed it.
evans said they couldn’t refund the money because PayPal have cancelled the refund because of the open dispute

      I contacted PayPal
they said the dispute had been closed but Evans at no point had attempted a refund.
      fast forward to today

I’ve got copies of numerous messages sent to and from twitter messages as it’s the only way I can contact them
I’ve also contacted their customer service too
all I get is PayPal have cancelled refund because dispute is still open.

I have proved that the dispute is closed
I have got an email saying that if Evans sent the refund they would accept it
but up until the date I got the email they have not once attempted a refund .

I have sent them a letter before court email
I have even offered to have the full refund as a gift card just to get this sorted !

I’m literally at the end of my tether and don’t know where to turn next !

i suffer with mental health issues and this is affecting my health and I’d saved the money for a year to buy these clothes as I’m on a low income .

Hi all,

Last year my brother purchased a Peugeot 3008 from IP Motors  (NW10) on finance back last year. The car was okay for a few weeks then all the problems with the car started, engine light came on, brakes needed to be changed, air con gased and so forth. He was sent to various garages to get things fixed through the warranty but the car is still faulty. At the moment he's not using it as hes worried its not road worthy (it recently went through quite a few MOTs before it passed) and hes had to pay out for another new car.

He would like to send the car back and get back the money he's spent on the finance on the car, and get the finance wiped but he doesn't know if he can do this. The company keeps telling him to bring the car back, but won't say if he can claim that all back and CAG has told him to send letters but he doesn't think they are reading them.

i just wondered if any of the amazing helpful people on here would have any ideas.

Thanks

Do we gather that you've already posted a thread on this problem? Or was that posted by your brother? Please would you post a link to it

Sorry this is the first post that I have posted about this issue, and as far as I am aware he doesn't know about this site, but I've had help on here for various other issues which is why I posted here.

As he bought the car last year – well over six months ago, it's not at all clear that he will be able to terminate the contract.

I think you need to let us know more about the car, new/second-hand/price/mileage and also the date of purchase.

Also I think we need to have a list of the faults which occurred and which have been repaired and the faults which have occurred and which are outstanding.

He will probably need to get these faults appraised by an independent inspector and also an estimate for repairs. It is highly likely that the best he can expect is to have the repairs carried out free of charge – but we need to know a lot more really.

It really would be much more helpful if your brother would take control of this himself and come onto the forum and start posting a story.

I don't fully understand how you say that he hasn't been here before and yet we are telling him to send letters which he thinks are being ignored.

I am so sorry I see the confusion now, I was meant to say CAB not CAG. They are just sending him letters to copy and send which doesn't seem helpful at all.

I also apologise for the vague details right now. I actually thought he had got rid of the car already until he mentioned it as he dropped me off home, so I've only got a vague idea myself, i just wanted to see if there was anything he could do other than send letters. I will get more details from him and update this thread, or get him to join as you have advised.

sorry

please get him to join and start taking care of this himself. You can see the problems that already are being caused by playing Chinese whispers.

I think I'm going to close this thread and if he's interested enough then he can start another one
