Hi all,

I have received a lettter from LCS on behalf of their client ADCB bank to collect full payment of and amount of £16,363!!

This has come as a shock as i left uae in 2011 assuming i had everything settled and closed.

They letter has a tone of urgency in getting  me to contact them to discuss repayment.

They have also informed me that they will be carrying a uk assets investigation on me...

this sounds quite scary, like in being made out to be some sort international criminal/fraudster.

They have told me this will commence 7 in days from the date of the letter 7/8/19 which i recieved 2 days ago.

What should i do??!!

What could it relate to ?

Did you have a property in UAE with a loan on it ?

Car finance ?

Credit Card ?

If they have not supplied much information, then wait for them to write to you with  more details. This is just a first letter after 8 years, so you should not respond to it.

It will mostly be interest and charges, so the actual debt could be a lot smaller.

Debt collection companies can't do much. It would be up to the debt owner/creditor to decide on whether to issue a UK Court claim.

We could do with some help from you.

oh scary DCA letter

can we have the FCA register number they quote from the bottom of the letter

I believe this lot are currently missing.

a DCA is not a bailiff on any debt

let alone one from a foreign country

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

that number doesn't exist. do they quote the FCA in relation to that?

and whats the full trading name LCS certainly are not registered under LCS that expired years ago. and in fact they were heavily sanctioned for unlawful practices toward supposed 'debtors'

well those FCA numbers don't match the current ones

and even so they have restricted regulation to only chase debts regulated under the consumer credit act after 2006

and clearly this debt meets none of those.

pers i'd totally ignore them

no.

the letter says you've already been in contact

I will gather that's no so as its std drivel from a DCA.

Stop... Breathe

You have that tense, stressed feeling - Oh what ever will you do? You may have a debt of £16k?!?!

But then you clear your head and realise that the DCA has no control on the situation and then you realise that you have received a template letter that they probably send to thousands of others...

Honestly dont worry :)

god no

don't waste moneyt

pers I think you are worrying to much about a simple, automated, threat-o-gram.

no human has been involved in sending this

its purely an automated from a one line entry in a very large spreadsheet they've purchased.
