Certificate of Insurance shows different premium amount

Hello,

 

I took out car insurance with GoSkippy (effective from today), and the quoted price was £695. This amount was deducted from my account, and my welcome letter quotes this price. However, I've checked my policy documents, and the certificate of motor insurance (from Watford Insurance Company) lists my premium as £1044, prefixed by MTA (mid-term adjustment). The insurance started today, and I haven't given any new/different information to them, so this seems confusing to me. Should I be worried, and/or contact them about this? They have only deduced the £695 (so far).

Hi

 

The MTA quoted only kicks in if after the start of your policy you make any changes to your policy i.e. change address, want to add another driver, occupation/ work address, annual mileage change etc.

 

I would also simply contact Go Skippy and ask them for clarification to give you peace of mind.

I would not worry about it. As long as the premium you paid Insurers your car for a year, there is no issue.  Go Skippy may have offered you a discounted price.

 

Be aware that according to many forum reports, Go Skippy have a poor reputation for customer service. Trying to contact them can be difficult. And if you wanted to make changes to your policy, this may be difficult to arrange and expensive.
