Orbit debt collectors knocking at door for old water account with united utilities

Hi

I recently opened the door to orbit and told them I did not want to speak to them

 

that was 3 days ago and he has knocked everyday since,

 

what can I do to stop this,

 

it’s for old water account with united utilities,

 

I have ignored the door the last 2 visits but my house is very busy and it’s only a matter of time before he calls back, it’s the same gentleman.

totally powerless as are ALL DCA's on ANY debt.

they are NOT BAILIFFS and 

have ZERO legal powers

 

next time film him with your phone

tell him not to return and to leave your private property

else you'll call police 101

Hi thanks for the advice, tbh I don’t feel comfortable answering the door and filming him, would it be enough to contact the company he works for, he is quite an intimidating figure

good all the more reason to FILM HIM doing it.

Ask him whether he would prefer to leave under his own steam or with a policeman either side of him.

 

Then advise him you are calling the police and close the door in his face.

 

I seem to remember doing just this many years ago and the man literally ran away.

the letter was in a day here years ago when pointless letter tennis was all the rage.

 

we've sort of wised up since then...

It was fun sometimes once you stopped being frightened of them.

call the police and report a man of his description and in a vehice with his reg attempting to break into the little old ladys's house next door (or wherever there is a little old lady).

going out equipped to steal would include false paperwork to hide the fact he is a burglar
