I'm not going to name names (because there's too many to)

But I'm seeing more and more threads where one person will say one thing to do, then another (or sometimes 2 or more) will jump in and say something else

The thread then seems to degrade into a string of "I'm right because" which goes on for a page or so

Then the person asking for help doesn't seem to come back and I can't help but wonder if its due to the above...

Think it was worse in the past.

Yes people  have different opinions and it can be useful to have an argument on the points being raised.

If you don't have someone raise an argument in a civil manner, then you might not get to a correct or more appropriate answer to the question that was asked.

Where an argument is unhelpful, is where someone just says, that is incorrect or simply you are wrong. Or just attacking someone for being silly etc. Why not just state an opposing view or offer up a counter argument or links to information.

If you think an answer being given is totally wrong, unhelpful or is just argumentative without offering any assistance to the poster of a thread, then report the post, so the site team can deal with it.

Thinking about it it seems more of a thing in daily life just recently

Driving is a good example, saw a car pull out of a junction in front of someone the other day, other car went around it on the horn - 10 years ago it would have been left at that

Instead the other driver made a point of emergency stopping several times in front of the one that came out of the junction

Just seems people loose their temper easily

Nah. The "brake checking" thing  isnt to argue. Its just to wind the other driver into a rage.  Sometimes it works, othertimes it doesnt.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks
