Can anyone help?

i finally got my credit record straight..

and then in february due to my S.A.D...

i missed a payment on 2 credit cards..

i got on the phone as soon as i could to get it sorted..

but at the time i was unable to do much..

because i was ill and sleeping a lot and i live alone..

its difficult to describe unless one suffers from this..

now to my horror after explaining everything ,

i found 2 late payment markers in that month one for each card respectively..

i am told this will stay on my file for 7 years...

i wrote to the companies..

received no reply only by email..

curt and standard,

that they wont remove the markers..

i am thinking this CAN be done but they are just not listening to the reason for the late payment..

only one in all the time i have the cards..

this will, i know affect my credit  adversely..

but will it be 7 years?

i called again today.. I

was told it would drop off after 9 months...

i  am thinking this is misinformation..

but i feel penalised for  being ill..

complaints are open on this..

would a letter from my doctor help?

i feel this is injustice... t

hough i know someone here will say..

its normal procedure..

and i was at fault..

still, im not just a number on the front of my credit card..

this is  a thing that happened to me..

but not deliberately..

and i feel i am not being  listened to on an individual level..

please help!

I'm afraid that it is an extremely unforgiving system – regardless of fault. It's extremely unfair and frankly it is quite disproportionate but there is nothing that you are going to be able to do about it.

In terms of how long a late payment marker last on your file, I'm really not sure. Maybe somebody else can answer. I'm sure it is longer nine months and I'm sorry but I think seven years is correct. However if it's any consolation, a late payment marker is not massively serious – it's certainly not a default

When I got my mortgage I was told that any late payment older than 12 months wouldn't be taken into account.

We could do with some help from you.

might explain a few things...

forget the calendar section...

only you and the debt owner can see that,

is the status of the debt in the summary line showing as late payment?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

thanks for replies, always much appreciated.. the calendar section has marker for feby. i received another call from b.c. today.. they are trying to ascertain the reason for late payment.. she is going to review it again based on what i am telling her over the phone.. i told her i can get  medical proof for illness..she replied,  perhaps later they might require that. it tells me , they can remove it... based on the reason..this is a onetime late payment marker..otherwise my files are totally clean of problems, but this ofcourse is making an impact on my credibility.
