First timer on here, but have been reading threads for a while now. Was very intersted to read about unfair bank charges. Very interesting stories on here. I wasn't gonna do anything about reclaiming charges from the past 5 years, but i have recently been charged £39 for a failed DD. What made me even more annoyed was that it was for a halifax loan. When i phoned up Halifax and asked them to justify charging me £39 they said it was to cover the costs of letting the other company know. I didnt even recieve a letter, i was sent an email because i recieve me statements this way, so the cost of an envelope and paper is out of the question. Now i have requested all my statements for the last 6 years and im adiment that i will recieve every penny that i am owed. Would be very grateful for all the help that i can recieve.
