    • threads merged.   going by your original thread the debt was sold around mar/apr 2017 so a default would have been registered by LLoyds upon sale when a debt is sold the name if the OC is replaced by that of the debt buyer   so everything to me sounds ok the defaulted date is of that time  and the whole account will vanish on the defaults 6th birthday.   what anyone put post that can't harm you further because they are not allowed to change a defaulted date subsequent calendar markers are irrelevant and can't hurt you file  further.
    • This is an area that I suppose we don't have a lot of experience in. So we will have to feel our way as best as we can – but there may be better sources of information elsewhere. You use the word "manifest" a couple of times – as if it is some kind of technical term. Does it have a special meaning?
    • Thanks and tried that route.  Seems they can for Jeeps up to about 2010, but not the newer versions.  I even tried an ex-Jeep franchise and same answer although they can service and reapir Jeeps, if a repair is done where the software needs to be updated,  I need to go to a franchsie dealer and cost is about £120.  I am wondering if a Subject Access Request can be made showing all documentation including a read out from the ECU on the Jeep?
    • Apologies Blemain finance is named on the paperwork how and what info do I put on sar  thanks
    • You can get the warning messages interrogated at an independent, this also shows what’s been reset in the past on most cars. You could consider getting this done to see if it confirms your suspicions. But please double check that they can get resets on a Jeep

    • I came across this discussion recently and just wanted to give my experience of A Shade Greener that may help others regarding their boiler finance agreement.

We had a 10yr  finance contract for a boiler fitted July 2015.

After a summer of discontent with ASG I discovered that if you have paid HALF the agreement or more you can legally return the boiler to them at no cost to yourself. I've just returned mine the feeling is liberating.

It all started mid summer during lockdown when they refused to service our boiler because we didn't have a loft ladder or flooring installed despite the fact AS installed the boiler. and had previosuly serviced it without issue for 4yrs. After consulting with an independent installer I was informed that if this was the case then ASG had breached building regulations,  this was duly reported to Gas Safe to investigate and even then ASG refused to accept blame and repeatedly said it was my problem. Anyway Gas Safe found them in breach of building regs and a compromise was reached.

A month later and ASG attended to service our boiler but in the process left the boiler unusuable as it kept losing pressure not to mention they had damaged the filling loop in the process which they said was my responsibilty not theres and would charge me to repair, so generous of them! Soon after reporting the fault I got a letter stating it was time we arranged a powerflush on our heating system which they make you do after 5 years even though there's nothing in the contract that states this. Coincidence?

After a few heated exchanges with ASG (pardon the pun) I decided to pull the plug and cancel our agreement.

The boiler was removed and replaced by a reputable installer,  and the old boiler was returned to ASG thus ending our contract with them. What's mad is I saved in excess of £1000 in the long run and got a new boiler with a brand new 12yr warranty.

You only have to look at TrustPilot to get an idea of what this company is like.

    • Dazza a few months ago I discovered a good friend of mine who had ten debts with cards and catalogues which he was slavishly paying off at detriment to his own family quality of life, and I mean hardship, not just absence of second holidays or flat screen TV's.

I wrote to all his creditors asking for supporting documents and not one could provide any material that would allow them to enforce the debt.

As a result he stopped paying and they have been unable to do anything, one even admitted it was unenforceable.

If circumstances have got to the point where you are finding it unmanageable you must ask yourself why you feel the need to pay.  I guarantee you that these companies have built bad debt into their business model and no one over there is losing any sleep over your debt to them!  They will see you as a victim and cash cow and they will be reluctant to discuss final offers, only ways to keep you paying with threats of court action or seizing your assets if you have any.

They are not your friends and you owe them no loyalty or moral duty, that must remain only for yourself and your family.

If it was me I would send them all a CCA request.   I would bet that not one will provide the correct response and you can quite legally stop paying them until such time as they do provide a response.   Even when they do you should check back here as they mostly send dodgy photo copies or generic rubbish that has no connection with your supposed debt.

The money you are paying them should, as far as you are able, be put to a savings account for yourself and as a means of paying of one of these fleecers should they ever manage to get to to the point of a successful court judgement.  After six years they will not be able to start court action and that money will then become yours.

They will of course pursue you for the funds and pass your file around various departments of their business and out to third parties.

Your response is that you should treat it as a hobby.  I have numerous files of correspondence each faithfully organised showing the various letters from different DCA;s , solicitors etc with a mix of threats, inducements and offers.   It is like my stamp collection and I show it to anyone who is interested!

This is a thread to contain my payday loans, my original one is here:

HERE

Here is a list of the payday loans i taken out from 2011-2014 (ish) The last contact i made with them was December 2017 as instructed by Redbridge Finance a company who was "supposidly" going to help me claim compensation from them.

Wonga

Quickquid

Payday express

Mr lender

Myjar

The money shop

The cheque centre

To name but a few, there are probably more but it really hurts my head when i try and think back.

I am not being chased for any of the above debts at the moment, and not all of them are on my credit report.

The only ones that are on my Noddle credit report are:

Lantern:

a debt collection agency wanting £262 default date 11/08/2014 Advance against income

Active securities LTD

a debt collection agency wanting £442 Default date 07/09/2014

I'm not sure which company they are from (original creditors) , i haven't heard anything from them ever although all of my debts were taken out at my old address.

There are probably more than the ones i listed at the top of the page, but it's going back a long time and feel free to read the thread linked in the top for a short back story going back to 2012.

I was hoping for some advice on where to go from here, redbridge tried to put a claim in against Wonga, filed a complaint against the FCA to find they went bust.

Thanks so much in advance.

Ive put your link back in... Click the link in your first post entitled "HERE"

This is my little playground for the PDL stuff... Someone who has been where you are not so long ago - I have a tremendous amount of sympathy for you...

Whats the deal with Redbridge at the moment? - I know who they are but you need to stop with them... PDLs consequently aren't the bottom of the barrel - PDL Refund Companies are the bottom of the bottom... They leech of the bottom feeders that are the PDL companies themselves.

You need to go find out...

Wonga - Has gone under and are no longer dealing with loans etc.

Instant Cash Loans - (Bare with me this is a long one) They are owned by a company called "Instant Cash Loans LTD" who also own - The Money Shop and PaydayUK - Currently a lot of these loans are being sold to PRAC Financial who are intertwined with BW Legal in various ways... BW Legal are literally a Solicitors for hire to make you cave in... You shouldnt...

Quickquid - Still alive... Do you know when the last payment was?

MYJAR - Still alive... When was the last payment?

The Cheque Centre - Died a lovely death back in 2016 / 2017 - Back they are back online - https://www.chequecentre.co.uk/ - But if you really want to know the full story about the company who runs them now - HERE - Wouldnt surprise me if your debt had been written off and closed. Unless it was sold to Lantern. They used to be MMF.

Active Securities - 24/7 Moneybox...

Best thing to is to have a look at both the guide below - They are intertwined - Hopefully it will help you a better understanding of what info is on your CRA and whether you could do an IRL

We could do with some help from you.

Hi thanks for the response!

I have not heard anything further from Redbridge since Wonga went bust and the FCA basically said they couldnt do anything. I do remember signing something however that says they are entitled to money from me if i decide to go for compensation without using them but i'm not sure.

They gave me templates to send to the various PDL companies and i only got 3 replies . QuickQuid Wonga and Payday express.

My last payment to payday express was £50 for an extension fee on 23/08/2011 . Have i just ruined a possible statue barred by emailing them in december 2017?

Quickquid last payment was 08/07/14 . Also last email was December 2017

PRAC Financial have instructed BW Legal to start a ccj if they do not here back from me by 27/02/19. I think it's only the Money shop debt they are chasing on that letter.

Thanks again for the reply!

I've now found out searching my emails that Lantern are collecting for quickquid.

Quickquid sent me a statement on december last year saying the amount i owed was £27.65

Now , Lantern on their first email said my balance was £27.65

But now it's around £260?

I'm not sure what an IRL is but do i send quickquid a CCA request?

Sorry if my post is confusing im literally twisting my self in knots trying to figure what goes where...

Thanks for the reply again!

I'm just gonna post again because it's not letting me edit but in a nutshell i have found that i was borrowing from Wonga and quickquid at the same time, is a statement from Wonga enough proof for an IRL claim ? It is pretty eyewatering i was borrowing and paying Wonga for 6+ months then used quickquid and the wonga again. The debt is also over years old. And it's lantern that is on my credit file that has emailed me asking to make a payment arrangement.

Thanks again!

I have also recently found out that 24/7moneybox the originial loan was for £120 and Active Securities are wanting £442 accoring to my credit report. I did send them a bank statement originally and it shows all of my income being transfered to another bank as soon as it's paid in.

Ok after spending most of the day reading these forums and advice i am going to send an IRL letter to :

24/7 moneybox - original debt £120 now £442

Quickquid - £27.65 original debt now £260

payday express - £315 - not on credit report and was from 2011 but worth a try as any settlement could help me pay off my CCJ.

Thanks again guys i might need some help or someone to proof read my IRL letter as i'm thinking of using a wonga statement dated and going down the route of "you should of done the eligible checks, not affordable as other loan taken out etc etc"

Thanks again !

several posts merged to one.

don't put specifics...

just do a general IRL complaint the same to each PDL company

simply put the relevant loan numbers in the title.

use the general things like your credit file already contained numerous defaults and missed/late payment markers

you already had numerous PDL with other lenders running.

they did not perform any affordability checks.

Am I right in seeing that there is a debt for £27? For QQ?

It may be they have already done a IRL (Irresponsible Lending) Write Off

Might be worth finding out.

I managed to get some sleep. I do struggle as these debts have started keeping me awake at night again!

Yes the QQ balance is £27.65 but it's because i paid £36.50 a month for 6+ months and a lot of that payment was interest alone. So i don't think i have had any IRL refund.

Thanks again for the response ! You truely are a hero

As for Lantern collecting for QQ , last email was May 2018 offering a 50% discount to pay £13.83 over 2 months to clear it.

I think they have stopped chasing me for that one though and i think the £262 is a completely different debt ( another payday loan company though ) But i can't for the life of me remember which one it could of been. Maybe MyJar?

I've found out that LANTERN could be Motormile Finance LTD although on my credit report it's listed as Advance against income. This was for a missed car insurance payment in 2015 or 2016 so am i right in sending them a CCA request ?

Sorry to post again!

Please delete the post above.

I've now found out that Motormile is a DCA and they were collecting for Mr Lender PDL a PDL i had well forgotten about. I have around 11 emails from them with 50-60% discount settement offers before selling the debt onto Lantern.

Thanks again and sorry i have tried to edit post above but i edited it in the past 5 minutes.. I am still getting used to the forums.

Thanks all!

I have also found out i taken out a MR lender loan & a 24/7moneybox loan within 3 days of eachother. It's amazing what you can dig up going through old emails!

24/7 moneybox orig loan amount: £150

sold to --> Active securities collecting for: £442

MR lender loan amount: £120

sold to --> Lantern collecting for: £262

lantern is new name for mmf, they don't chase debt for others they are debt buyers. and a dca

don't worry about the missed ins payment debt...later!

just get IRL complaints off to every ORIGINAL LENDER that gave you PDL's.

an original creditor will always £0 the balance and show settled when they sell it on.

that's how it works.

then the A/c will appear under the debt buyers or DCA's name, and the balance will be what is owed [plus any unicorn food tax they tend to addon]

and with a defaulted date set by the OC when they sold it or before.
