Unknown a'c numbers

What do you do if you have closed credit card account where you do not know the account numbers?

Theres a couple of things you can do

1) apply for your credit reports from experian and equifx at £2 a pop, these will have the last 6 years of your credit history on them and should have the card numbers of on,

2) Send a reworded S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) along the lines of -

Current Address:

I understand that you currently hold details of my personal and financial information within your internal record systems with regards to credit card accounts.

 

I would be grateful if you would provide the following for ALL credit card accounts I have held with your organization:

1) A complete list of all transactions or statements relating to ALL my credit card accounts with your organisation.

2) Records of any manual intervention which have been applied to my account

 

You may need to supply them with proof of identity as well, photocopy of a utility bill and driving license should do it

I just rang MBNA and HSBC, gave them my address at the time, mother's maiden name etc., and they were (with a little bit of cajoling) happy to oblige.

Hi I thought I was in the same situation having closed my HCBS account nearly three years ago.

Might be a silly suggestion as I am quite sad and keep these kind of things but I looked on an old pay slip I had and it was on there

My Natwest credit card that was closed 2 years ago cannot be found when I phone them up and ask about it. If it more than 6 months ago there seems to be a problem finding it out. Not quite sure what to do. They get confused because I have another card with them and it all seems to be getting mixed up.
