Environment Agency seeks boaters' views on proposed increase in charges

 

Boat owners who keep or use a boat on waterways managed by the Environment Agency are being encouraged to have their say in plans to increase charges.

 

A public consultation into proposed increases to boat registration charges for 2019-20 and 2020-21 launched today and will run until the 30 August 2018.

well, if I were a boat owner why would I agree to a double increase? Just trying to cover themrselves when they up the charges anyway and just state they have consulted so it is all OK in the land of perfidious Albion

Environment Agency announces increases to charges for boaters

 

Environment Agency announces new charges for boat registrations

 

The Environment Agency will increase the cost of boat registrations on its waterways from 2019 to help ensure a sustainable service for thousands of boat users.

 

The new charges for 2019-21 will be invested in waterways enjoyed by around 29,000 boat users, helping to meet the shortfall between the cost of running the service and the income currently generated from annual boat registrations.
