I recently purchased a smart/fitness watch (Garmin). When purchasing I was lured in by the suggestion that the watch would feature connectivity to Deezer (Music app) so that I could download my playlists and go out running without having to take my phone with me. This was marked on the website as 'coming soon'.

Since buying the watch and asking the customer care team when this feature will be added they are unable/unwilling to give a time frame.

Is there an actual definition of 'coming soon'? I am tempted to take the watch back but as it is outside of the 28days and there is nothing wrong with it I can only imagine it will not be an easy conversation.

Any help to sway my argument would be much appreciated.

Thanks

if that was the reason you bought the watch it isnt fit for purpose or of merchantable quality. Get on to garmin Uk and let them give you a definite date or refund you for the missold goods. Let them know that you will be asking the same on social media (and slagging off their non functioning products to boot)

It is like when a shop says buy a telly and get a free radio and the radio doesnt work. They cant claim that it doesnt matter becuse it was free with the telly, it is the whole package that you consider before parting with your money.

Thank you for your reply. I have been discussing it with them and I suggested it was a misleading quote “coming soon” which they have said it is not (misleading). I will test them with another push, as suggested, proposing to ask the same question across Social Media and see what response I get.

Coming soon is a cover all caveat. It could be a week, it could be a year.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

What does 'coming soon' mean? ...here's an example. If you go to apply for a TSB classic plus current account online, you would click on 'apply online today'. The next page to load on your browser will say 'coming soon'.
