so get it in writing that they will mark my credit reports as satisfied and this will be the end of the debt if i pay whatever i am offering?

FX - what do you mean they wont remove the CRA info, if they agree to accept my offer are you saying the loan wont be amended to satisfied on my CRA - what would be the point of that

DX - Yeh but surely they can see i've got late payments on my loan - surely it is best to clear it off my credit file?

Correct they will never remove it... They will set it to partially satisfied only...

Don't waste money in Full and final unless they REMOVE it...

Although I would tempt fate and prepare them an offer for removal... I want to see if they treat people differently and unequal...

When you say offer of removal - are you saying remove all info from my credit report that i had the loan, or just mark the loan as settled?

why's it not right

you missed payments they are entitled to mark your file

shouldn't hurt a mortgage application anyway.

but they cant see the calendar stuff

only the summary.

it literally says everywhere pay day loans are bad for your mortgage applications.

i dont want outstanding debt on my credit file, i want a clean file within the next few years.

Can you tell me how partially settled on your credit file is bad?

most mortgage co's ignore silly PDL stuff now.

partially settled means there a debt outstanding an that will show in the debt summary for 6yrs and wont look good towards a mortgage

as it stands if the summary just says 'late payment' on any debt, it doesn't really harm you interms of getting a mortgage.

I disagree with DX about the PDL element but if you look at it rationally DX is right. Just remember PDL companies and the products they offered were irrational - Almost loan shark like...

As for your case with BW Legal... Ill brb

So - I quote you from BW Legal on a scenario that occurred to me earlier this year...

We believe that the complaint wholly relates to the fact that the debtor is attempting to remove details about this loan from his credit file which is an illegal attempt to "Credit Wash".

This was after i had offered 50% on a F+F basis and they rejected it because they were unhappy with the terms that they removed it from my CRA. This isn't even my loan - But I did it because i knew they would reject it.

Under no circumstances do they remove entries for your CRA. They would rather steal from their own... *Cough* - You get the idea...

Dont waste your money on a F+F... They will only mark it as Partially Satisfied. The default will still be there upto 6 years from the date of default.

If you do decide to go down the F+F route and then they do agree to remove it - Please do let me know... Id like to know if they treat people as unequals...

Did you default though DX? Or did you manage to catch up arrears and allow them to mark it as settled?

BTW if you didnt and it went into default - Did you get the notice of assignment from the Almighty BW Legal?

Yes that’s what they’ve done with me. So realistically the best thing I can do here is just pay the whole debt off rather than offering settlements if I want it to look good?

Would you mind posting up screenshots of the account from all 3 CRAs?

Id be interested to see if it reflects across all 3
