Hello all.

Regarding there being no £10 fee for SARs, I want to send HSBC a SAR (because I know that I had loans with them that had PPI but they've previously said that they don't have records that go back that far), other than there being no fee, is there any change to SARs, please?

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi all.

Had a lot on so an update:

I have followed the advice on the SAR and used the Data Protection Public Register

have checked it for HSBC's address of the data holder and I get the message 'More than 100 registrations found.

Please try again, this time narrowing your search criteria.'

Can anyone help with the correct address, or even email address for HSBC?

FINALLY got around to doing this (long story, new baby, etc).

Am I right in thinking that this advice from Martin Lewis is useful?

I've asked but my bank says I didn't have PPI. Is there another way to check?

If your bank says you didn't have PPI, as a backup you can ask who it used as its underwriter (the company that decides whether you're eligible for the insurance). You can then contact this organisation directly to see if a policy exists.

Yes, why not. Could easily be worth trying

issue with HFC PPI was that the underwriters were Hamilton life

run by ex HFC people, that's why the mass shredding exercise in the early 1990's happened around the country at every HFC branch.

Great!

Also, just been on to HSBC on the phone and they confirmed the sort code and account numbers of loans from back to close to when I opened my account in 1996 (although they state that they don't have any more details of them than that).

This might sound an obvious question but shall I include these details or just stay with the SAR 'whole hog'?

P.S. Just had the same woman who gave me the loan account details tell me that "because it was over six years ago, they won't be able to give you any more information'. Hmmmm......sounds familiar!!

no open one

you can mention the details you want inc numbers, but that does NOT absolve them from everything else

HSBC do hold the info we know they do we've seen details from late 80's from them in threads here.

yes truecall box!!
