Well p'haps its better not to try and deal with these issues whilst its bad..

Its not like sending the sb letter will cure anything bar the odd annoyance.. Which is all a dca can be or do anyway

Id not send anything yet

ok, right... here is something on my mind right now..re; statute barred...does statute barred apply if the debt collector has been phoning or writing letters within the 6 year period even if i have not replied or acknowledged the so called debt?

another query..can the credit reference agency continue to show a default after 6 years...in whatever manner...? i refer to experian who have put defaults under closed accounts..what is the cut off date for showing statute barred accounts?

Nope only payment or use of the credit by you or a signed letter by you can ever reset the sb clock..once a debt is sb'd not even a judge can unbar it

ty...and what about experian still holding records on me after the 6 year marker? can they be forced to remove them? equifax are easier to sort out...and simpler to see...and remove the records fast..

are you saying it does not harm my credit rating if defaulted accounts are still on my credit file after 6 years?

But they are in the posters case....so how are they appearing ? AP markers ? or just a case that Experian are lax ?

Or is there a particular problem with this defaulted debt ?

If its statute barred write to them and tell them to shift it...its over 6 years.

Andy
