Lenovo purchase refund refused

I bought a £1,300+ laptop from lenovo online store in March 2018. It was not delivered til April. When I used the laptop for the 1st few times, I found that the charger/adapter, was over heating & that when charging, the laptop itself was also overheating. I brought it to the attention of Lenovo. They sent the wrong new adapter. I then last week asked for either a refund or brand-new laptop. I was told that 30 days since I had ordered the laptop had elapsed so the best they could do is repair the laptop. I said that although I may have ordered the laptop more than 30 days ago, I received the laptop just about 30 days ago & so surely the 30 days should start counting once I receive the item.

 

I then tried to call ADR to lodge a complaint but their number keeps going to voicemail.

 

My questions are 1. Am I within my rights to request either a refund or brand new identical laptop, 2. which ombudsman can I approach to try & resolve this matter.

You are right to identify the beginning of the 30 day period as the day that the laptop was delivered to you. However, you say that it was delivered "just about 30 days ago". This mean within 30 days or outside 30 days?

I contacted Lenovo on 11 May which was 28 days after I had received the laptop. Thanks
