Is anyone else having trouble logging into AOL?

I can't log into my account today with my PC, although it still works most of the time with my phone.

 

I keep getting a message about AOL being called Oath now and it says that before I continue it wants me to confirm I'm in the UK and to confirm their new privacy policy.

 

When I try to accept their conditions or manage my options, it says 'Oops something went wrong, please try again later.' Every time I try, I go through the same loop.

 

What am I doing wrong please? Thank you for any help.

I'm with AOL too HB and the problems I get connecting to them would have driven me to moving to another provider years ago if it wasn't for laziness and the thought of having to go to every website I've ever registered on and change my email address - all those sites where my login name is my email address.....

 

I got that page this morning as well and clicked my way through it and it went through OK for me, no error messages so I don't think there is an inherent problem in the message (which is AOL's version of the GDPR requests we've been getting from everyone ahead of May 25th).

 

I do get that error message though more often than I want to see it! I'm no techie but it appears to happen when there's a problem making a connection somewhere at the local end of connecting to AOL. Major AOL connection problems country/world-wide can be tracked on several sites but it doesn't seem to be related to anything major like that. So far I've always found that leaving it for a couple of hours and avoiding peak times that day self-corrects it. Life's too short to waste trying to discuss it with the useless AOL Helpline so I no longer bother to do that unless connection problem goes on for more than 24 hours.

Aol did try to load my mailbox earlier but it failed for unspecified reasons.

watchout too

if you are using a non uk IP they stop you totally.

 

2 people I know had to use teamviewer via their uk pc to answer the GDPR questions

I did manage to get into emails earlier on, but there's a new message about GDPR that takes me to a yahoo screen. I'll try that part of it again tomorrow.

Yes, it says that on the page I get when I try to log in. I tried to log in to Yahoo and it doesn't know who I am. I think I need to ring aol, they were quite helpful last time I had a problem.

I seem to have lost the message asking me to confirm I want to stay with Aol.

 

This morning I managed to log into my email account and it started loading my messages but just kept whirring. It said I could click on something to use the Basic version of the site, but that didn't work.

 

I left it to its own devices and went and did other things and some hours later, it had finally stopped whirring and showed my emails. I'm praying that it will stay working now and not cut me off on the 25th as it threatened.

The message in post #15 is what I had, dx. But every time I clicked on OK - or manage options - I got the error message that said to try later.

 

I hope I'm past that stage now, I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
