I am a little puzzled - a month or so prior to Christmas and up until about now, Furniture companies have had 'end of stock' sales, 'Black Friday' and 'Black Friday week' Sales. Prior To Christmas they had 'mid season' sales, 'Bank Holiday' sales ... and now they are having "new stock introductory" sales ! When exactly does anyone actually pay the recommended retail price for these items ??

The real irony is they dont carry stock, they have showroom models and then get the money from you and order the thing to be made by someone else. That company takes all of the risk whist the big store holds your cash. Full price, you pay it all of the time

A well known Nationwide Furniture Company use RRP using illogical amounts "example" £998 not £999 so when they 1/2 price the sofa it makes £499,which is obviously the true retail value,and yet thousands of their customers think they have got a really good deal and the company have a figure £499 which is easy to handle on their 4 year interest free credit etc

I may have worked for one such company in the dim and distant past. Full price goods were displayed in our store as one of the larger ones in the company. Generally towards the back of the showroom or in the aisles with the full price tickets on for a couple of months before being swapped into a proper display fitting as they went ‘on offer’. Predictably, very few were sold although some people did buy them.
