Have had a letter today from LLoyds Bank regarding my PPI complaint on TWO TSB cards held in the late 1990s.

 

They have rejected the mis-selling of PPI but have made a payment into my bank regarding the commission - a total of £500

 

However after the breakdown of each card it says total payment is £503 but after that there is a total of appendix i and ii where it says over £6,000 is the amount you will receive for both cards.

 

I dont know where that figure has come from but if they say its what I will receive do I pursue them for it or could they turn round say its a mistake and not pay it

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

this was a ppi complaint done online and over the phone

- they have sent a detailed letter as to why they say they did not mis-sold the PPI and work out e commission on the ppi on both cards totaling £500

but then they say you will receive £6000 for the two cards but have no idea where that has come from

- just wondering if they will say its a mistake and despite saying this is the amount you will get that they turn around and say im not getting it

its really stupid to start a PPI complaint without getting everything they hold first via an sar

else you haven't a scoobies if whatever they decide upon is correct.

Yes - it was not a good idea to begin this without an SAR first. I think that it shows that you still trust the bank - which is a serious mistake. Lloyds are a fundamentally dishonest bank and you need to look after yourself every step of the way.

 

Please will you upload the correspondence you have received from them in PDF format. Also, please tell us about your PPI complaint. Have you any written record of the details of your complaint?

You have been dealing with this on the phone - but I suppose that you haven't recorded your calls - even though you have been with us since 2008.

 

Please lay all all the information here and we will help you. If Lloyds have admitted that there was a commission issue then to my mind that pretty well admits a Plevin mis-selling .

 

Most importantly send them an SAR accompanied by a cheque - not a PO. Do this immediately. You will want to get hold of everything they have on you in any form relating to your account, loan and PPI. You also want everything they have on you relating to their PPI complaint investigation. You also want all telephone recordings.

I can tell you that even some of Lloyds own staff don't know that Lloyds has this archive department.

 

You will need to monitor the cashing of the cheque. This archive department are not to be trusted either and they routinely breach the Data Protection Act by delaying SARs, not complying at all or making incomplete disclosures.

 

I suggest that you send the SAR and then call them in 14 days 0345 0707124 - to check that they have received the SAR and that it is being dealt with. Then call 14 days later to check its progress.

If there is the slightest delay then begin a complaint to the FOS and also the the ICO.

 

Of course, you will read our customer services guide before making any more calls and implement the advice there.

 

You need to act quickly because if they have given you their final response, you only have 6 months to complain to the FOS.

 

Please engage closely with this thread and don't disappear for long periods. Start taking this seriously.
