Hello, I'd be very grateful for any advice on how I resolve the following:

- I noticed a card payment for 143.66 to Lending Stream going through my account. Realised it was fraudulent and got my card stopped etc

- later that day I checked my account more thoroughly and saw that another exact same debit had gone out the month before, but I'd not noticed it

- I called lending stream who confirmed they have no account in my name, or at my address and agrees the charges were fraudulent

- I have now called multiple times and emailed many more but I've had no further response from them.

Where do I go from here?

I'd be grateful for any advice.

I'm more annoyed that they feel they can just ignore the fact they've allowed two fraudulent charges against my card.

Thank you

You didnt cancel the CPA.

Go cancel it and get all that money returned to your account.

You also need to NOT call a company when this happens as the phone monkeys are told to say anything to get yout o get off the line.

Get everything in writing.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

go ring YOUR BANK

get them to cancel the continuous payment arrangement to LS

and refund the payments

cancel ANY OTHER CPA's with any other PDL companies you had whilst at it too.

cancelling your card DOES NOT, cancel the CPA.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi

I suspect one of two things.

1 Someone is fraudulently using your account. If that is the case, get the bank to cancel the CPA if that is what they are using of the direct debit if they are using that.

2 Lending stream have cocked up and mistyped the account details.

Either way the bank should refund you s these were not authorised by you.

Do you have online banking? do you have alerts set up? If not, do so. This will protect you if any unauthorised cash is taken from your card.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor
