ParkingEye ANPR PCN - Purley Way Retail Park croydon

I was recently shopping for sofas with my family and went to a number of sofa shops all closely located along one street.

I didn't realise at the time but the car park for the first shop was exclusively theirs and enforced by ANPR parking restrictions.

 

The limit was 1h 30 and we stayed 2h, leaving 15mins before they closed.

The car park was almost empty.

We did end up buying a sofa but not from the shop we parked outside.

 

a week or two later and I've received a PCN from ParkingEye wanting £70, £40 if paid within 2 weeks.

 

I'm going to complain to the shop and inform them that if I have to pay this I will never buy anything from them again,

is there anything else I can do about this?

For the sake of £40 it's not really worth the hassle of going to court,

my time is worth a lot more than that.

For either option, does it say which appeals body they operate under. - BPA

 

FWIW I tweeted @sofology on twitter and they said take the charge notice back to the store and "they'll help", so I guess I'll try that first

Hi Negev, welcome to the Forum.

It would be great if sofology could help

-obviously had you bought one of their sofas it might be easier to get the notice quashed.

On the other hand their sofas are not great so maybe you are better off being stuck with PE than a Sofology sofa.

 

As well as trying Sofology please send us photos of the notices in the car park and where they are sited in relation to the entrance and photos of the ticket machine if there is one.

 

Also check with the local Council to see if they have planning permission to erect the signs under Town and Country Planning Regulations [Advertising] since it is illegal not to have PP.

 

Could you also show us the NTK with anything that identifies you or your car removed so that you can get the best advice to fight the charge.

In the meantime do not contact PE .

I'd get that in writing from the shop, email will do.

agree, PE tend to forget these things occasionally. ( reality is they sometimes wish to continue in high dudgeon because so many of their spuruious claims are cancelled)
