Hi Slick! Wow that thread is really interesting, can't believe Harlands have been chasing TwinMum for so long!

I'm hoping you can help me with my issue with Harlands.

I was also passed off to CRS

after i kicked up a fuss they stopped chasing me.

Now the issue i have is what happens if i rejoin that gym or join another gym that uses Harlands as its direct debit collector..

im assuming my name would flag up on their system showing I'm in arrears.

The gym i was with was lifestyle fittness.

Most the gyms in my area use Harlands:-/

In a nut shell,

last year I cancelled my direct debit with lifestyle fitness.

I then had Harlands chasing me to pay all these admin fees, I refused

im kind of hoping it wont..

Does anyone know what might happen?

Most of the cheaper gyms in my area use Harlands.

Thanks in advance :)

they must write to you if they wish to vary the sign up DD within any one month

you simply refuse anything they try and add on.

the DD guarantee is a very powerful bit of bank legislation.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi DL and welcome to CAG

DX is right - the DD Guarantee Scheme means if any payment is taken that you're not happy about, you can reclaim.

So if Harlands tried to recover monies for a previous gym m/ship on a new DD mandate, you would seek a refund via the bank (who should refund without question or delay) and complain to the new gym about Harland's actions.

My advice is to join any new gym you want and see what happens - Harlands will not be able to recoup any previous ALLEGED "debt" using a new DD mandate.

Keep us posted please ............
