I am struggling to close PayPal and EBay accounts of my late Husband. Using the contact us forms doesn't appear to produce any contact from either of them.

Has anyone had experience of closing these accounts - thank you.

Found this regarding Paypal

I will provide this information here so it can be easily searched by those who need it.

For legal reasons, we require some documentation before we can close an account. We need the executor of the estate to fax the following to 08707 303 194.

A cover sheet, providing the executor's contact details (email address or phone number), stating that the account holder is deceased and that the account’s executor wants to close the account.

The death certificate of the account holder.

The will that identifies the executor of the estate. If a will wasn't created, we'd need a written statement from a legal representative (on letter headed paper) declaring who the executor of the estate is.

A government-issued photo ID of the executor.

A note specifying what to do with any money that remains in the account.

We then review the documents and, if approved, we'll close the account.

If there are funds in the account we can resolve this also and will discuss it at the time.

We could do with some help from you.

If probate has been granted, these three should be superfluous and a grant of representation should suffice.

Ruddy hell ! I didn't have to provide anywhere near this information to close down bank accounts/premium bonds etc.. just a copy of the Death Certificate !!

As there is no money in the PP account and no outstanding invoices or products on Ebay.. I will just leave them open and return emails when they are sent.

Thank you Mr P :)

if you can login just use the normal close my account feature in the account details sections. Transfer any money out of paypal by just clicking on the transfer money button and enter the balance and it will go to his bank account. Then tell bank to discontinue payment authority via card or dd

Once done you can forget about everything, it will all just dissolve in time
