Never a good idea to have any savings with the same Bank as a debt. Within the terms there may be rights to offset, using your savings to reduce the debt.

I would suggest you move the savings to a new account elsewhere with a Bank or Building Society or Post Office account you don't have a debt with. That savings money might prove very helpful at some stage, so you want to safeguard it.

We could do with some help from you.

Thanks for reply.

I have started taking savings out ready to put in our new current account.

Just waiting for new account to be set up.

New bank is switching all direct debits

.Have no direct debits for any credit cards just essential priority debts.

Just worried that obviously if right up to overdraft limit they will carry on adding charges until DMP kicks in and hopefully they freeze it.

Should I leave them about £300 clear of overdraft to use for charges or not.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I would think that once you secure your savings elsewhere,

that you would tell them of your financial position and that if they continue adding charges the overdraft limit will be exceeded.

The debt is already unserviceable, so they will be making their debt bigger, not taking into account your financial position.

We could do with some help from you.
