Today I got a message from Payment Protection Scotland about payment of PPI and to pay their invoice. I will start with how everything started.

Back in March I had filled in a form about claiming PPI with them and heard nothing back.

2 weeks ago I got a call from the Bank Of Scotland's internal PPI team asking me about PPI, what credit cards I had with them, when I got them, was I miss sold it or did I know etc and the man said thanks for everything, I'll let you know in 4 weeks what decision has been made,

he said if any payment of PPI is due because I only paid it for one year,

he told me that over the phone I only paid PPI for one year then it would be paid into my account and if not a letter would follow explaining why not.

I don't check my bank account everyday I had no idea about this payment.

I called the Bank of Scotland and they confirmed that the payment was made by them into my account for the PPI I am owed but they can't comment on any agreement made between me any other party.

they want me to pay over £90 in fees and I don't know what to do.

I don't know if the man at the Bank of Scotland phoning me was to do with them or if it's just their own internal team making phone calls to customers.

I don't know what to think or do.

Tough luck for using A CMC when you could have done it for free yourself

Doesn't matter who rang you really

You employed them to re claim PPI

You got the PPI back

Their fees are due.

Next time ask cag first!!

Can't see how you can get out of it sorry

I know it's my own fault.

This was back in March so long before I noticed this site and long before I knew about anything to do with PPI!

I think I'm better just paying it.

The lady on the phone did say to me to enjoy the money and spend it and pay the invoice when I could which I haven't received

I was going to say well, I did what you asked and enjoyed it lol.

Maybe I could pay the invoice in installments?

Do you think they would let me do that

or am I better just clearing it and that's that?

I don't have the paperwork but their website says.

We operate on a strictly No Win No Fee basis.

If we do win our fee is 30% and this is payable from the settlement we receive from your lender. So you pay absolutely no upfront costs.

You also entered into a legally binding contract with us therefore you are obliged to pay us the final invoice amount.

We calculate our fee (30% of your final settlement figure) as soon as you have accepted your PPI settlement offer.

We endeavour to invoice you as soon as possible so that you can pay us for our services;

you can then go on and enjoy your PPI compensation without worrying about paying our invoice.

If our invoice arrives before you receive your settlement cheque, then you pay the outstanding balance when you cheque has cleared.

When I receive a settlement offer, what do I do?

It is very important you let us know as soon as possible.

The likelihood is that we will also receive notification of any settlement offer made to you and we would want to check this figure to make sure you are receiving the right amount.

on one hand if you receive an offer you must let them know but they also say the likelihood is they will also receive notification.

I'm pretty sure what I signed said much the same thing.

I know it was done through a phone call.

I gave my details over the phone, they sent out a copy of my name and address and bank and they just needed my signature.

I'm sure there would have been small print on it.

I just didn't know what the situation was on it because it came from the bank.

If it was a letter from Payment Protection Scotland It would be different

I just thought with the phone call a few weeks ago and then the payment from the bank that the bank had given it to me on their own without any coercion

I guess that might not be the case since they knew about the money being given to me.

as dx100uk says

"You employed them to re claim PPI

I'm all for consumers being treated fairly, but you seem to be trying to look for an angle not to pay a company YOU asked to do a job for you.

Scottishbloke17

you said, "they want me to pay over £90 in fees and I don't know what to do.

I don't know if the man at the Bank of Scotland phoning me was to do with them or if it's just their own internal team making phone callsicon to customers.

here's a wild crazy idea!! ... why not just ask the CMC or the bank ??

Sorry if I sound harsh scottishbloke17 but you seem to just want to avoid paying a debt and have no real reason to be unhappy with the CMC.

Shame on you! the country would be bust if we all acted like that.
