Would like to thank some of the peeps on here over the years for their advice.

I've finally had it agreed in writing that the Halifax are going to write off £9K worth of debt.

This is a big weight off me and I feel so less stressed.

They will close my account and mark my credit file "partially settled".

They had accepted my income and expenditure, and that I had a variety of health problems meaning I am unable to work to pay it off.

One very happy chappy!!

partially settled... I would demand they mark it fully settled.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

Would i be wrong to think that it they, (The Bank) have it recorded as partially settled they might then sell the remaining debt to the bottom feeding debt collectors? ... Or is this tree I'm barking up containing no 'Cat'-ch?

Anyways, congrats confused4sum.

No.

The letter says they will close both accounts and mark partially settled.

They agreed to write the debts off.

No further action after that.
