Hi. My daughter has received a parking charge for overstaying at Aldi car park

She popped into store and on return car would not start. She called me as she only recently passed her test and did know what to do.

I drove up there and got her going, she had a flat battery as left friend in car with lights on and playing music.

So now got a demand for payment as parking was only for 1 hour 30 mins. With the time for me to drive there and get her going took us over time.

I haven't contacted anyone yet so looking for advice as think a little unfair. The camera only shows her entering and leaving.

Thanks for any advice

Try not to worry. it's easily sorted. Sit tight, relax and the regulars will be around asap.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

a car breaking down is not a breach of contract so in the long run nothing to really worry about but in the short term it may take a bit of effort for PE to see sense.

The first thing your daughter should do is contact Aldi and ask them to tell PE to cancel the ticket.

Dont do this my email or they will just forward the email and let PE decide

first of all a phone call to HO customer services followed up by nagging the manager of the store concerned and then a letter to the CEO of Aldi, letting them know that it would be embarassing for them to be seen to be doing nothing to help stranded customers.

I hope daughter has her shopping receipt as they use the data to help them make decisions on shopping habits, parking etc.

She may even like to ask Aldi about the planning permission for the cameras and signage that PR have plonked there if they look like they want to pass the buck.

In short, go after Aldi to put it right, not PE, at least initially
