To save us re-reading the thread, have you spoken to HMRC about the P45 issues? They might be able to advise you.

I've just spoken to HMRC and have JUST been told that they have a P45 with the correct information on, and was issued a payslip for May showing zero figures

I received the payslip for May last month when I contacted the accountant who ran the payroll and it clearly states my monthly pay

Hi all

Just a quick question

If a company has gone into liquidation, are they allowed to delete all personnel records held on file? Internal emails, external letters ect?

I think that not only are they allowed to delete all these records but they probably have a duty to do so once the use for these records no longer exists.

I suppose that you are finding that it is rather convenient for them to have done this – you are probably right – I'm afraid that I don't think there is anything you could do

it would be usual to keep them for 1-5 years, the liquidators will be responsible for ensuring that pertinent records are kept. Email are a different kettle of fish though, once the comapny stops paying for use of a swerver then it all gets scrubbed
