Hello

I have a Ccj which has been on my file since February 2011. So I think it is finally due to drop off shortly. I have tried really hard to get my financial circumstances under control and think I'm finally getting somewhere!

I've been paying £10 a month to this debt but haven't paid for a few months, maybe about three or four.

Not heard a thing from the DCA chasing until today.

They have sent a letter asking me to start making payments again which I'm happy to do but am worried that by doing this I'll be on their radar and they might try and Ccj me again.

Can they do this?

I will keep paying until the debt is cleared but what if if I didn't?

Could they still damage my credit file?

Thank you so much for any help.

No - a Judgment can only be entered once against the debt

Is it the same DCA chasing the debt as it was who obtained the CCJ in the first place? If not it may well have been sold on and the new DCA is unaware of the Judgment.

If it is the same DCA then they could move to enforce the original Judgment and have a year in which to do this - after that they couldn't do so without an order from the Court

Any advice given is done so on the assumption that recipients will also take professional advice where appropriate.

12mts to go till it drops off

just remember that paying debts off does NOT remove defaults nor CCJ's.

nor improve your score or worthiness

shame you didn't defend the claim back in 2011

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
