icoinilla.com, icoineta.com, icoinesta.com -cheap Apple products via Bitcoins

Hi all,

 

I recently had a very bad experience with a purchase I did on a website called icoinela.com.

 

Long story short, I was looking to buy an iPhone 7 plus on Gumtree, where I was contacted by a seller who informed me about a website with good discounts on Apple products, and he seemed kind enough at the time to provide me with a 40% discount code that was expiring a few days after. After some research I did online about icoinela, I found several articles saying that people have used it and that it is legitimate. One of them was BBC (well, not the official site, but a spoof site that was looking exactly as the official BBC website). In fact, all of them were spoof sites.

 

The only payment method they were accepting was Bitcoins. And according to them, this was main reason why the products were cheaper. I placed the order, I transferred the Bitcoins to the wallet address they provided, in turn they confirmed the payment via email and after that they disappeared. I tried to contact them and they never got back to me.

 

Yes, I feel totally stupid that I fell for it and I learned my lesson the hard way. The reason I'm writing this post is because I want to prevent this from happening to other people.

 

After some research I did, I found out that many people have been [problem]med this way. In all those cases, similar websites were created such as icoinilla.com, icoineta.com, icoinesta.com and in my case icoinela.com. Of course, none of them exists right now, but this will continue happening I wanted to raise awareness to everyone, and I hope this post pops up to their search engine results.

 

I have reported this to Action Fraud and I have claimed my money from the company that the website was referencing.

 

I'm now in the process of contacting other victims of this [problem], gathering them and then open a legal case via a solicitor. I have already spoken to three more victims.

In a funny way

You could be spoofing people too by inviting you all get together and go for some sort of mass action

 

Its always better to bring individual claims

If that is your goal...using court

Because I'd like to exchange personal details since I'm now in the process of chasing them legally, and possibly hire a private investigator, and I'm already talking to other 3 victims regarding this, so I want to be able to organize all that and doing it by emails seems the easiest.

it doesn't help anyone on a public network that may read this later with the same issue to take things out of the viewable aspect.

The post has done good already.

 

If there was such a post for us before we did the purchase then we wouldn't have lost our money.

And Im sure if this happens to more people and they see the post,

they will post here and will be in contact with the rest of us.

 

Some details that can go public:

- On icoinela.com,

there was some company details mentioning the UK company ICM Limited.

I expect this to be invalid information,

but I have started a legal claim against them and I'll have an update by the 7th of January

 

- Interesting fact is that even though most of the sites

(icoinela.com, icoinilla.com, icoineta.com) are registered by a UK individual with hidden details

(as seen on the Whois tools online),

one of the sites,

icoinesta.com,

is registered by ICM Limited and their director.

Not sure how valid this information is.

 

- If the legal claim against ICM Limited is not fruitful,

I'll hire a private investigator to help us find out who is behind all this and take legal action.

 

The Police unfortunately does not do much in these cases.

Sure, I'm a big supporter of cautiousness especially after what happened to me.

 

Do you see any dangers in people contacting me regarding the fraud?

I used to do a lot of business with foreign sellers but always took the trouble to research the company and initially only placed a small arder until I was satisfied that they were bona fide.

 

 

Sorry that you were rooked by people who deliberately set out to cheat you

but i would advise not wasting too much time and energy on this as the chances of getting anywhere with it are very slim.

That's a solid advice, and it reminds me that I need to have low expectations here.
