I'm after some advice if possible.

in my stupidity I haven't being paying my water charges.

about 4 weeks ago I received a letter from the county court for welsh water charges from 2016-2017.

My wife immediately opened a new account from 18th Nov and has made a monthly payment.

I replied to the court with a part admission for the charges from April 2016 to Nov 16 as my wife had opened an account

and was making regular payments,

I also supplied the new account number

However I have received a response from welsh water that they have denied my claim for part admission.

are they allowed to carry on with the courts for the full amount for the financial year,

as they will essentially be getting paid twice from 18th Nov for water charges at the property.

you ideally should always defend all

regardless to if you think you don't owe all some or none of a debt

as that usually results in a CCJ anyway.

as for you payments, or more importantly your double payment.

the court need to sort that one out.

is it too late on MCOL for you to change your plea and enter a defence?

or else ring WW and get them to merge the two accounts to beat this payment confusion?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Yes they can reject your part admission...and go for the full amount.....but you can adjust the payments with what you are already paying..If they request a forthwith judgment use form N245 and arrange a monthly payment taking into account your existing payments to account.

Regards

Andy

so essentially there is no point in my wife making payments too them for a new account if they can and are going to chase me for the full year?

Time to negotiate (the arrears and the current charge) with them and ask if they would withdraw their claim and come to an arrangement as payment as now been set up...or you pay only the arrears element of the judgment and your wife proceeds with the current?
