Hi all,

Lloyd's have admitted that I have PPI on a £17k loan that I was unaware of having and I would not have taken it out as I was only working part-time.

They have yet to admit mis-selling but I should hear within the next couple of weeks.

As I have no paperwork I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not the PPI would have been front loaded.

It was taken out in 2006 under the name of Loans direct and was repaid early.

Hi Ford, this is pre fos, it was a loan I forgot I took until I was going through very old statements.

I phoned Lloyd's regarding this and 5 other loans, they have admitted PPI on 4.

I had a call the other night asking for more info on one of them and I should have their response soon.

This is a new case Ford but maybe I should go down the irresponsible lending route with the 2006 loan also.

back to this case,

I was wondering if the ppi would have been front loaded as if it was I never had a rebate when I paid it off a year later.

If I had I would have known poi had been added.

Cheers Tlk

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

hi,Mightymouse, I'm not sure whether this is was frontloaded or not as I never requested it. The other I know I was told at the time the ppi would better my chances of getting the loan.

It's quite likely that it was front loaded - looking at the time it was sold and the business. I was just clarifying that this isn't always the case.

How many hours a week were you working?

so all you really want to know is how to work out what you might get back

as Lloyds have already said they are refunding

so do you know how much per month of that £297 was PPI?

you've no details or no paperwork at all?

No nothing, only old bank statements.

Lloyd's haven't said a definite on the refund yet Im just living in hope.

Just interested in what sort of figure I would be looking at if they do uphold.

I know I'm probably jumping the gun but I'm well aware of the little games they like to play.

No I haven't sent an SAR yet, I didn't think I had ppi on this loan it was only after I phoned them regarding ppi on a 1997 loan that they gave me the account numbers of other loans I had with them that they say had ppi and this was one of them. Will get on to it straight away.

not saying Lloyds do wriggle

but

I've done about 30ish claims for various people here and friends

3 times I've found them lacking and won more money.

one of their 'tricks' is to conveniently forget some loans were in a refinance chain

i'e a later loan paid off a previous loan and ofcourse each had PPI and their was no PPI rebabte upon refinance of the old loan

so more interest was added and more PPI added.

they treat each as a aseparat refund

whereby they are not they are in a chain so they cleverly 'forget' the extra interest charged on the PPI rollover

the other dodge is to just give their std £1200 rebate and say they have no info on some older loans

whereby an sar reveals they did have the info, saving themselves £1000's is 8% interest to today

an sar is always a must before any PPI reclaiming

and so is the FOS customer questionnaire

not saying Lloyds do wriggle

they do :)

an eg, they say they cant find any loans/cards and want 'evidence'. yet, a quick trip to a branch and the counter staff easily find them on the system!

had thought loyds got reprimanded for undertaking an initial policy of obstruction?

do the sar. :)

No Ford,

I had all the info I needed for the other complaint, statements and agreements etc.

I'm usually quite anal about keeping paperwork hence still having bank statements dating so far back.

Unfortunately this loan was taken online and if I was sent an agreement I can't find it anywhere.

Lloyd's are going to be glad see the back of me after my last success with them which ended with them having to payback nearly £30,000 in interest and charges.:-)
