I have been invaded.

This keeps interrupting my business in the Bear Garden.

There is this Essex or somewhere in the south east smug little man who is telling me how to make millions in the next few months.

A smug little varmit that needs sorting out if you ask me.He and his chums.

All sorts of adverts pop up,some asking some rather interesting questions when you are viewing anything.

Blocking your computer and seems to sneak in.

Any tech minded ones who know or had dealings with these infiltrators before.

And of course the easiest way to get rid of them for people with limited technical knowledge such as myself.

Free if possible.

I cannot see them on my programs. So struggling to wipe them out.

Thanks.

Tawnyowl.

I suggest downloading Malwarebytes and scan your system. If that fails you could type in msconfig in your search bar at the bottom of the screen (win 10) and see what comes up in the system config/ services box.

Tick 'hide all Microsoft services' and see what is left. Generally these services can be unticked

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

a browser hijacker

what browser(s) and operating system are you using

try 'Malwarebytes antimalware' (free version), see if that gets rid of it.

Thanks for your advice everyone .I downloaded Malwarebytes and it scanned my computer for 30 minutes finding where they, the enemy were hiding. They were found.

A battle took place and they were defeated and taken off my computer.

It is now guarding the computer and has just said it has blocked one from entering.

Thanks again silverfox1961 and Ford.Good advice.

Tawnyowl, now wondering now who is behind this attack,i will research a little when i have time.

Also look into the Essex or South East racket that really got on my nerves.

Checkout who is behind it.

....and has just said it has blocked one from entering.
run a scan again when you have some spare 30.

it, or others, may be trying to come back. or maybe you have some rogue software trying to reinstall something.

double check your installed programs in control panel, see if there is anything still there unfamiliar.

or, cld get a bit more technical and try deleting 'old prefetch data' (something like 'ccleaner' (free) can do that, but be careful what you delete if using it. post back re if you want, i'll help you through it)

another free one cld try is malwarebytes anti rootkit beta scan https://www.malwarebytes.com/antirootkit/

Just scanning for rootkits Ford. Thanks again.

Now one of the adverts that kept popping up was something called the Greenwood Formula.Very persistent.

I was just trying to find the person behind it to send him a message.I will keep trying,he is out there somewhere.

But it seems you may have a problem finding out who is behind it.

If you look for the name you will soon find out what has been going on.

if all is ok atm, maybe leave it, see how it goes.

re 'prefetch data'; sometimes malware stays in there if its not removed there by the antiv and is prefetched when starting the pc, hence tries to come back.

Latest news, another battle just took place.

Your Malwarebytes malicious website blocking technology has blocked outgoing or incoming communication between your computer and a malicious Internet Protocol (IP) address. That's a good thing. This communication could be:

An attempt to download malware onto your computer

An attempt to redirect you to a malicious webpage

An attempt to deliver malicious advertising

AVG free version.
and avg didnt pick up the malware! time to dump it? :)

cld try avira free.

and then also scan the system every now and then with malwarebytes.

only use one realtime resident antivirus prog. any others as on demand only scanners. imo.

seems as if you have something still hiding somewhere. at least it was blocked. when it comes up, clean/remove it.

have you habitually used avg for years?

if you have then there were know issues with avg and you'll see there are old #avg or alike hidden folders

pers id be totally clearing all evidence of avg off the machine.

install 360 total security

https://www.360totalsecurity.com/

and do a full scan

I bet you stopped using IE11? because of issues you got with the PC being slow

classic symptoms of an infected pc from years ago?

download the portable version of ccleaner.

extract it. go to the folder run it.

when it comes up, untick everything that comes up auto to be analyzed. then click only on cookies, old prefetch data (untick ignore older than 24), temp sys files, temp internet files. analyze and then clean.

restart the pc, then do another antivirus scan.

Multiple choices that i did not know about.

Thanks.

Lets see if avira picks up anything.

Quite enjoying this thanks to the help given of course.
