British expats in Spain, some of whom voted to leave the EU, are finding that third country rules on visas and lengths of stay in the country apply to Brits as well.

Yes - so there are people who voted for the UK to Brexit, despite apparently having good reasons and benefiting from living in the EU, but thought they would still have the benefits after Brexit

....

but theres FAR more than 2% changed their minds now reality is biting ..

I wonder if Spain knows the true numbers of Brits there but I guess they'll find out.

The lady from Bremain in Spain said a lot of people have been flying under the radar and playing both systems. It looks as if it's becoming tricky for them, but this shouldn't have come as a surprise. We knew what the rules were a long time ago.

I see Starmer has said that there is no case for rejoining the EU and not just that - that we have got a deal and have to make it work

Has that Piers Morgan not seen the real world issues which are occurring?

Make Johnsons bodged 'grate' deal work - which May rejected, and most of which 'deal' Johnson and his pals repeatedly voted against before he pushed an even worse deal that would require the UK to (repeatedly) break international agreements and law?

Really does seem to be showing himself to be just another privelidged Londoner isnt he who thinks (like Corbyn) that Johnson is so bad that labour voters will vote against Johnson whatever ...

Well he may well be a better option than Johnson or Corbyn, but he should remember that Labour voters have a tendency to 'not bother' when they aren't impressed or feel ignored.

David Henig's Twitter feed is well worth following, if you want information on how UK is trading after Brexit.

Covid is dominating the media and news stories about Brexit are therefore not really grabbing much attention.

I see the other lying Piers Morgan is getting his historic levels of talking horseplop back in practice ready for his populist right wing spin onslaught via Murdocks' UK fox News+ channels already approved by the UK gov

Not that I give a monkeys about a whiter than michael Jackson, wealthy, privileged, international 'socialite' whining she's an abused BAME rather than the goldigging whiny whiter than michael Jackson, wealthy, privileged, international 'socialite' she appears to be..

.. but I do acknowledge that does seem to be a minority position rather than as the 'Piers Morgan' claims

Piers who !   Have forgotten him already :)

There are quite a few like Piers who believe they have the right to inform everyone of their opinions on most populist subjects and have the right to offend as many people as possible.

Today's blog from David Allen Green has the title 'The judges are only the enemies of the people when it suits the government. HMG think the Supreme can't judge on constitutional matters over Brexit but it's OK if they want to bash the devolved nations.

As Johnson populist clique attempt to consolidate power over broadcast media

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2021/apr/14/ministers-veto-reappointment-of-two-women-to-channel-4-board

Channel 4 Investigative news clearly a thorn in Johnson side

"government has vetoed the reappointment of two women to Channel 4’s board of directors, including one of only two women of colour, in a sign ministers are continuing to assert their authority over senior media appointments.

.. against the advice of both the Channel 4 board and the media regulator, Ofcom."

The Lords have published a series of reports on joint committees to try to smooth the path of Brexit that haven't even been set up, problems with policing and family law and other topics.

I just spotted that they say there will need to be more UK civil servants in Brussels than there were when we were a member.

@honeybee13 "I just spotted that they say there will need to be more UK civil servants in Brussels than there were when we were a member.  "

I am registered with Civil Service Jobs, seeing both internal and external jobs being advertised.  Thousands of new Civil Service jobs are required to help deal with Brexit related issues.  The extra cost is going to run into many billions of pounds.

Cannot see any Brexit dividend in the near future.

The news this morning is surreal.

Matt Hancock has shares in his sister's company that is offering shredding services to the NHS.

Vital medical information and updates for pharmacies has been suspended because the Duke of Edinburgh died.

The FBI has offered a reward for information on the whereabouts of Konstantin Kilimnik for interfering in the 2020 election. He was also involved in the US 2016 election via Trump sidekick Paul Manafort and has links with Arron Banks and Leave.EU.

Thought the rule was that ministers needed to consider "tabloid test". That if their actions would look wrong if printed on front page of newspapers, then they should not proceed with actions considered wrong by most readers.

Yes UK media is mostly right wing and invested in Conservative Brexit, but there are columns by some writers criticising actions of ministers. It is whether the editors decide at some point to go front page with sleaze stories.  I can see it heading in that direction, if the public become concerned enough.  Last nights BBC Question Time spent quite a long time discussing this subject.

In Wales its cronyism and sleaze with the Labour/Plaid stitch up., plus bullying. Drakeford isn't the paragon of Virtue either, all of the Parties are guilty to a degree but The Johnson Administration seems dodgy for sure. Prince Philip is an ideal distraction to bury any implications Hancock has dodgy nepotic deals.
