I'm disappointed it didn't go to court, a hearing would have been interesting if Priti Useless had been compelled to testify. But I understand that Sir Philip might not have wanted the stress and uncertainty of a hearing.

When I said Europe wouldn't be pleased to see David Frost back, I didn't expect that within about a week of being appointed he would unilaterally extend the grace periods for goods travelling to N Ireland and risk legal action and damage to the UK's reputation in the world. It's quite concerning to me, but clearly not to the government, what's being said in NI by unionists and loyalists.

It's hard to believe he was our ambassador to Denmark when he behaves like a night club bouncer and only seems able to negotiate by confrontation.

All further indications that Johnsons' 'guvernment has no intentions of dealing fairly.

Bet Gove was arguing against a less blatant lie and cheat stance that trashes the Uk's international standing.

I'm waiting for other nations to do the same with the deals the UK has struck with them once its in their interests:

Following your example, we have unilaterally amended our agreement Boris. We will now send you the bent bananas you desired for twice the price of straight ones. Chew on that - as long as you pay in advance.

That's what you might call it but if it was of any interest others would join in.

You're typical Left Wingers, Instead of just whinging, why not come up with some alternatives for a change

Stop whinging about constructive detailed criticism Conniff, typical populist - externalising your own issues on others.

although harassing and trolling those who do highlight real world issues with nonsensical posts like yours has proven effective hasn't it?

Where Trump leads ...

* How about an alternative to Johnson 'the Liar' and the lying populists being a solution?

* How about the quite straightforward requirement of competently negotiating deals/agreements and sticking to them, or at least working with the other party to address issues that YOUR incompetence has created ... that most others easily foresaw in those posts you so hate?

""The prime minister has insisted “goodwill and common sense” will deliver resolutions to contentious post-Brexit Irish Sea trading arrangements."

- No chance Johnson or Frost will show any “goodwill OR common sense” though is there as history has already defined.

Some suggestions which were highlighted at the time

How about actually isolating all the people that flew back from covid hotspots for a year before they half-assed made a statement

How about feeding hungry British kids and supporting local companies that did that for just 150M, rather than spending £500M on eat out to spread the virus which did damn all for other than a few of the richest restaurants?

How about putting 22 Billion into the NHS and local trace, rather than give it to the private sector to pay minimum wage for call centres to watch re-runs of CovidNation street and play games and reduce the spread by little more than 1%

How about not giving UK taxpayer funded tax relief to Amazon and suchlike who shift their profits abroad?

How about having supermarkets install temp checks almost a year ago as part of their stay open package? (which could have reduced the R number by a third given supermarkets as one of the main spread areas)

All these suggestions were raised here you whinging populist

But that is just it, there is never anything constructive about your posts, just whinging and quotes from the Guardian whose owner not only supported the IRA

but actively supported the terror and bombing campains that killed hundreds of innocent people.

Also with all the want, want, want - how about saying where the funds are to come from.

Too right

Just like certain other (Frost, Johnson and Conniff for examples) Whiny the Poo-pulists whinging because the EU is sticking to the agreements defined by the whiny brexiter poopulists themselves

- oops - apologies @Conniff - you JUST whine

Somebody needs to remind them that they preached 'Brexit means Brexit'

and that the only promises and agreements being broken, both to the British public and international community, ...  is promises and agreements made/lied by the Poo-pulists themselves

Cake and eat it; let alone honey on it; no one threatening our place in the single market, no reduction in access

- was only promised by the Brexiters

While they continue to throw money at (foreign) companies shown to profit from short changing hungry UK children, rather than using and supporting local companies

... mind you the Tory part set the abysmally low standards on feeding (not) UK children hungry these companies profit from haven't they.

Johnson and Gove must think that Scottish independence is a certainty and Irish reintegration in the EU very likely

- and they dont give much of a monkeys about wales

Knowledge of Scotland not essential for government’s new ‘union unit’ jobs

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/scotland-uk-union-unit-jobs-gove-b1800250.html

"The job ad at Michael Gove’s department demands candidates “demonstrate good political judgement” and have the “credibility to build a strong network of relationships across Whitehall”. "

"However, it states that “understanding of policy issues relevant to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland” is only “desirable”"

Border checks on imports postponed for another six months. The government have said it's to allow businesses to prepare but it sounds more as if the goverment isn't ready with border infrastructure, properly trained customs agents to help with paperwork, etc. How long have they had to prepare?

Article in the Telegraph about the Tories refusing to have a Scottish independence referendum. 'A source' is quoted as saying 'We are not having a referendum in the middle of a pandemic' It's OK to reorganise the NHS in the middle of a pandemic though?

I'm a bit confused by the figures, UB. I thought around a million Europeans had left the UK since the referendum.

I wonder if the UK just didn't know how many Europeans were in the country because of figures not being kept due to freedom of movement.

Even the 3Million campaign seems to have underestimated the numbers.

Not sure Government had accurate numbers for EU mainland citizens living in the UK.

I think when the numbers of those settling in the UK is revealed at the end of June 2021, it will be  a much higher number than most have estimated.

In regard to many returning to EU mainland countries, I think quite a lot did leave the UK permanently, but in the years before the Brexit transition ended, many more came to the UK.

This isn't new but the Beeb have had another look at the problems with trade between Britain and Northern Ireland. The government knew at the end of 2019 that there would be problems, because of reports by its own departments.

So why is it acting as if it's a surprise?
