Hello there.

I've moved your thread from the media section to the main pensions forum and left you a link to follow.

Most pensions can only be taken from age 55 now because the government changed the rules on early retirement. What do you mean by it being protected please?

Hi

Not sure why my new threads keep appearing in the media section?

I understand certain pensions are protected if criteria for protection has been met and the original contractual retirement was 50.

I'm afraid my understanding is if it was an employer sponsored pension or a private one, it's automatically age 55 since the changes in 2010.

The word 'protected' often has a particular meaning in pension terms, can you quote what your documentation says about being protected please? And why was the contractual retirement age

This is from the government website about taking early pensions.
