PCM and loading bay

same happened to me on Saturday just gone.

 

I had stopped to check on my 8 month old in the back seat.

Warden stood behind the car (engine still running, me in driver seat) and took pics

 

. she walked around the front of the car as I shouted at her asking what she was doing.

without taking her earphones out, she told me I was illegally parked.

 

I pointed out that I was not parked and would move on immediately if she was a bit nicer.

 

Asked for her number as she just kept shouting "It's not my job to warn you".

 

I agree about the signs being there but not too obvious.

 

Also "Loading Bay" does not scream "do not pull in here"

to you when you are driving along and need to pull off the road for a minute or two.

I almost wanted to nip into the nearby police station to report her!

 

At the end of the day, it is a private company and not a council parking charge

so I would be interested to see how they will proceed when I refuse to pay.

Well, if you dont get a NTK by the 14th they are timed out for keeper liability. Because that date falls on a sunday they had better pull their fingers out because the law doesnt allow them any extra time.

Also, it will be interesting to see what they claim, stopping to avoid running their operative over would be an unusual breach of contract... Still, you will know that it is compusory to do so next time.
