The PCS union released a leaflet some three years ago with the same stark warning: http://www.pcs.org.uk/filemanager/root/site_assets/camapaigns/welfare/universal_credit_10_things_to_know.pdf

10. 40% of DWP staff who will be administering Universal Credit will be UC claimants themselves and also subject to the regime of conditionality and sanctions.

The PCS may have revised downwards their estimate of how many union members will be affected, and it is certain that some part time staff will get hit by the threat of sanctions.

Well at least they can say to the sanctioned Claimant that they are all in it together, except IDS and Gideon aren't. The UN has also found the Sanction Regime to be against UN rules.

I don't think they sanction for the fun of it. Plus the fact that they are low paid enough to be on UC says a lot. I couldn't do their job
