We got a letter from BoS in April 16,

saying we can have a PPI rejection claim reviewed from 2008!

We called to go ahead and sent back the necessary signed form.

We now have received a letter from the saying that case was dealt with and closed

and they aren't sure why we are contacting them.

With it was a copy of a letter we can't remember receiving from 2008

saying we had a successful claim and they would get a cheque issued to us.

From its value, we would definitely remember something like that,

but neither my husband or I have any recollection of it.

We have phoned BoS they say they will investigate and get back to us.

Just wondered if anyone else had experience days anything like this.

It all seems very odd.

Hi,

Do you have any statements from the time they are saying you had a successful claim.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

We bank with RBS and we have asked them for a statement for Sept/Oct 2008 but they say we cannot go back this far. Tried my online banking too but can only get to 2009 with it. This is my only bank account so this is where any cheques etc would be deposited.

So you have never banked with BOS, if not I take it they have made some sort of mistake.

The ppi we tried to claim was for an old Bank of Scotland loan.

When was this and what was the outcome, do you have any paper work regarding this.

I only have a copy of the letter they have just sent us from 2008, it states our claim was successful and tells is redress values. Back of the letter states we will be issued a cheque.

We cannot even remember getting this letter, believe me with the redress figure on it, it is something we would not have forgotten.

So I have the initial letter they sent us in April saying they would review our claim as it was unsuccessful, then a letter last week saying this case was closed and why are we getting in touch now with a copy of this letter from 2008 quoting this amount we have supposedly received.

Think you'll just have to wait on them concluding their investigations.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just an update. So we asked for payment to be traced and asked for the account it was paid into. We got a letter a few weeks later confirming payment was made into xx xx account on the 26th September 2008.

We visited our local Bank of Scotland and a very helpful lady emailed head office to get us a copy of our statement from this time.

We have now received statement and it clearly shows no payment has been made into the account. We revisited the bank yesterday and the lady said we could phone ppi from the branch and she would confirm no payment has been made. They asked to see a copy of the statement, which the teller copied for us and stamped it along with a note confirming no payment made. So its now been posted off recorded delivery.

The branch has told us to make a complaint also as the whole thing has been such a mess and she confirmed all letters contradict each other, even wrong spellings of our surname and letters dated incorrectly.

They don't seem to be too clever do they, hopefully you will get the payment they are talking about soon.
