took the said form to post office only to be told system was down and therefore couldn't get any stamps.

 

That being said,

I spoke with the P.O manager and explained to him the situation that it was an appeal form etc,

 

 

he listened and then gave me 2 stamps,

to the cost of postage out of his own pocket,

but said would not be able to get proof of posting should I decide to post it.

 

 

I have one calendar month from the date on the letter (20/07/16) within which to appeal,

 

 

I am in doubt as to whether to actually post it, if the system is down, and it doesn't get there on time you get the picture, delays etc etc

 

Could you have not used another PO. I would never post without proof and being able to check online if they received and signed for it.

since you sent it to HMCTS it will get there and you should get a letter from them in response unlike DWP who could lie saying not got your forms then when you say it was sent recorded delivery and signed for hey pesto it suddenly appears! in their post system.......

 

 

 

 

Edited to add - not sure if you have posted but if there is a delay you have valid reason of it being late seeing at the time of posting there was a London wide outage

 

 

also you can send proof of posting first class, I believe which should be fast enough or special (overnight guaranteed) delivery cost like 7 quid tho or the much cheaper only recorded 1st class delivery with signature only thing its a PO Box but the post office I spoke to reckons you can still send to PO Boxes im assuming someone may check post everyday at the HMCTS end
