I kid you not. I do it all the time, this time there was a trout on the out of date shelf going for the pricely sum of 10p! So I decided to take a photo of it and post it on twitter with the line 10p trout! for a laugh, because I'm a bit silly.

No sooner had I taken the photo though before one of the staff came up to me and said he was afraid he was going to ask me to delete the photo as they don't permit taking photos of stock or prices or something.

I was like, are you have a laugh mate? Is Jeremy Beadle hiding round the corner?

Nope, he was serious and when I said no he then said that he was going have to ask me to leave, and as I walked away he picked up his radio to call security.

I whizzed round and pick up the item I was after, paid for it and left before security could apprehend me.

Who knows what happened with security, I expect the guy was on the other end of the phone saying "you want me to what? Kick someone out for taking a photo of a fish?"

So there it is, your funny That's Life story for the evening. Interesting to see if they let me back in, maybe I can make some money selling the story to The Sun.

I suppose I was wondering as well, where the law stands with regards to this? I do this all the time, normally to take a photo of something I might be interested in buying.

But the fish, no. I'm vegetarian!

On private property you need permission to take photographs if not obtained then things can get tricky for you.

But in a public place this is permitted normally...

If I have been of any help, please click on my star and leave a note to let me know, thank you.

don't forget this is private property

they don't have to actually give any reason

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

So where do I stand with photos I already have taken? They don't need to give me a reason to ban me from the place, but if I agree not to take any more photos on my phone without their permission I'm sure it wont be an issue. I doubt they'll be looking for me next time I go there. If they ban me though, I can always sell the story to the newspapers and just buy my groceries somewhere else, it's not like there's a shortage of supermarkets around here.

I bet the guy felt like a right blooming jobsworth afterwards. I wonder if they spent much time looking for me lol I'm afraid I wasn't going to back down on this, he brought not only stupidity to me but also passive aggression. I'm not going to be told by anyone to delete content from my phone, that is up to me and me alone. If he had a good reason, and asked me politely without the ultimatum I might have obliged.

So where do I stand with photos I already have taken?

They can only ask you to delete any images, but they can not force you to do so without a court order. If they try to delete the images themselves, then they could be liable for a charge of criminal damage. If these images documented an offence taking place, then deletion of the images could be seen as destruction of material evidence and/or attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Bottom line: Once you have pressed the button, the images are your property along with all intellectual property and coprights.

Am I free to share this photo on social networks?

If you have a signed model release from every identifiable individual in the image, I doubt you would have any problems. Should you not have the appropriate model release form, then you'd probably want to blur out faces.
