OK Well the answer is no you do not have to provide anything. Personally would write or email the EA say9hg something like.

Please explain why any of the items mentioned are relavant to the issue of my sons whereabouts. as there would be no indication of it on the information requested.

 

I repeat again that I have had no contact with my son and he has not been at this address for at lest two years. In light of this and unless you have information to the contrary i suggest you continue your investigations elsewhere.

 

Please contact me if you still consider it necessary to inconvenience me further and include your reasons for doing so.

Whilst sending that letter is perfectly reasonable and correct, it might just give the impression you were being evasive. Sending a letter of explanation with a copy of Council Tax, looks like you are being helpful and they should start to look elsewhere.

It may even be a good idea to meet the enforcement company part way by providing them one document only (a copy of the council tax bill) include it with a slighhtly modified version of Dodgeballs template.

The documents asked for do not constitute proof of who lives at an addresss in my mind it is a pointless exercise and will only result in a visit anyway.

The first paragrph of the letter asks why these prequest are relavant, if they come back and give a valid reason then by all means supply them.

 

You are not refusing to supply you re asking for clarification as to why they want this information, given that it proves nothing.

Perhaps you should send your credit card details to prevent them from releasing their wrath.(please dont)

Thanks for that I think I will just send them my CT bill and a letter confirming what I have already told them. Hopefully that will be an end to it. Still think it disgusting they can hassle innocent people who have nothing to do with the original fine but hey ho
