Hi,

I hope i am posting in the correct place.

To cut a long story short,

I am self employed recently had a down turn which left me in debt with the council tax

causing me to not be able to pay my loans.

The council tax of i am now set up on a plan to repay them over the next 2 years which i can keep up with

however, I am therefore not able to keep up with my loans,

I've spoken to them and they won't accept the payment i am offering,

Most is well under half of what they want.

Once the council tax debt is over i will then be able to pay the loans off at the rate i was currently.

I have been recommend to get a debt management plan set up.

What would your advice be?

Debt is around 15K

Thanks,

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Yes who are these loans with?

Council tax is your priority, unless these loans are secured, then they're not a priority.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Three credit cards and a bank loan. None are secured.

well your priority debts are as follows

council tax

Morgage

Utilities

Then any unsecured debts

Phone the national debt help line and they will help you go through a budget of your outgoings etc then you will see how much you can afford to pay towards those final debts

are the cards/loans still with the original creditors

or have they been sold to DCA's?

OK,

Do your OWN I&E, see what you have coming in and going out.

As these are non priority debts then you can easily manage them yourself without the need for a third party, who won't do anything about ensuring these debts are enforceable or help you reclaim any fees/charges that have been levied on these accounts.

The council tax debt is a definite always pay this.

Try and give more info regarding what debts you have, rough figures, last time payment was made, when the accounts were taken out and how, bullet point answers won't get you the advice you may need.
